Today I was heading late for a meeting in guelph. Passing on bridgeport towards victoria when all of a sudden I see a cop playing laser tag with me about 200 meters away with some cars already pullled, started zooming in with the phaser and moving to the middle of the street to wave me in probably…

Happily there was hwy 87 offramp 15 meters away - gently on brakes, dorifto :owned:

I was lucky to see his big friggin ray gun… and the lego hat…

usually, you’re suppose to ask to see the cops radar gun for the exact speed you were going. MOST likely, if they said you were going 55 in a 50 zone, usually they’re bullshitting about you speeding at all. Always ask for them to show you the speed you were going, cause you can refuse to take the ticket in that case.

last time i asked the cop if i could see the ticket he literally laughed in my face and said “pffft no”… he didnt show up in court tho

i’ve asked to see the gun. didn’t have shit on me, so he says “i don’t want to ruin your record… BUT i will give you a ticket for your exhaust”. court in a few months. there are situations where they don’t need a radar reading as far as i know, but always ask anyways.

no they can technically follow you for more than 100m and use they’re speedo.

if they are chasing you they go by cars speed but if you cross infront of them and they pull u over they need a radar reading… i was going approx 85 in a 50 zone and a cop pulled me over saying i was going approx 80 through the intersection and i asked for the gun reading because i “believe” i was not doing that speed… which i was and he could not give me a tickle because he had no poo… just an asumption while i crossed infront… soo depending on how that cop pulled u over if he was infront/following or if u crossed infront of him theres ways to get by that.
