So i let my friend do a burnout in my car.
And now its fucked as hell… when i pop it to first gear and let it sit, the rpm needle keeps jumping to 1000 rpm and drops back down and my dash lights keep dimming…sounds like my cars dieing. And in any other gear when i let off the gas at a high rpm it starts to jump back and forth as if it was dieing. Any ideas of what this is? Fuckin hell last time i let someone drive my car!!!
Probably popped a vacuum leak.

Sounds like a bad airflow reading, Check for leaks in your intake system behind your MAF, best way to do it is get a can of brake clean while the cars idling and start making a concentrated spray around all your intake plumbing(after the MAF filter/Airbox) and then proceed to your intake manifold and vaccum lines.

ya my fault for letting him… i was askin around and someone told me maybe it’s the throttle sensor… think it might be that or no?

All jokes aside, it could be either vaccum issues or a bad MAF sensor. My friend had somethin similar on his Maxima.

My friend never resolved the problem lol. He just sold his car.
If you’re not sure if it is a vacuum leak and your CEL is on, just go get your code read and go from there… Vacuum hoses can’t be that expensive either.
