Yeah I got the gore perk. It’s hilarious… you shoot a guy in the face and not only does his head explode, but usually 2 other limbs. I’ve shot a guy in the face with a pistol and have all his limbs explode, rocketing streams of blood out of every orifice. It’s hilarious.
the supermarket was the first time i ever felt the pressure of being gangeg up upon. just a hint, lets say someone is charging you and you use up all your AP with VATS and it’s still not dead- often times the cursor will still be lined up, so you can just manually fire to get that last shot in. The combat shotgun is perfect for this
also, when you exit the supermarket, be prepared for the bounty hunters… they are nasty ( but their armor is soo nice )

the fatman is like 300 caps a shot if you can find ammo at a store but whatever, so worth it. Only downside is if you do not set your companion to ranged weapons, it will decimate them. I got a brother hood of steel member to join me, and she makes a excellent tank. Anyone get more than 1 person to join you?
i haven’t gotten anyone to join me yet I’m too good. “ambassador of peace” at the moment… haha.
also, i picked up the unique weapon “terrible shotgun” it’s retarded- fully repaired, does 51 dmg. missle launcher does 100, yet combat shotgun has plenty of ammo and a 12 shot clip. I don’t die anymore.
Oh i also picked up the unique power fist “fisto” which is pretty awesome.
the shot gun sounds sweet, I am stuck with the crappy combat shotty, the only special weapon I found was from a quest, and it is a plasma rifle(called the A437 or something) that does 70+ dmg when repaired. I also jacked up my energy weapon skill and have some power armor stolen from a enclave soldier that adds to it as well, not sure if it goes past 100 with the armor. If you want to get into the citadel, you have to advance in the main story line.
btw, did you kill the head of the vault in the beginning or did you get away? Wonder if that broad is going to hunt you down later in the game for killing her father
I know that you get that plasma rifle depending on what you do with the runaway android, but I just haven’t committed to it yet. The shotgun IS sweet. If I had a map in front of me I could tell you where I got it, but I don’t, so I can’t. Having 100 in repair is awesome though :tup:
STORYLINE SPOILERZZ:
i searched through the monument and found some tapes about dad… then went to rivet city for the first time. Li wants me to go back to the monument to find even more tapes? I dont think there are any. Can i get into the citadel after that?
I killed the guard, left the guy alone, although he threatened me. I know if you killed him, something later in the game occus, a quest maybe or something.
I did kill the overseer in vault 101, he was pissing me off. I never returned to vault 101 to find out if there was anything extra to do. I may try this over the weekend. If you got the tapes, listen to them for clues and after you listen to the right one, the quest will update. There are tapes in the basement of the memorial as well as in the purifier chamber.i think it was the one from the chamber. you still have one more mission after that before getting into the citadel. For the andorid mission, i confronted the andoriod first and talked him into giving himself in, he gave me the rifle and then i turned him in to dr zimmer.
I was “very good” under the stat screen, the paladin will not join you unless you are good and if you start doing bad things, she will leave you. There are 2 other people I found that would join you, one was a guy at the bar in megaton but you needed to be “bad”. The other was the guard for the bar keeper at the ninth circle in underworld(ghoul town), you have to buy or do a quest for his contract.
edit: i found out you can only have 1 character in your party, unless it is for a specific quest where someone else has to follow you.
bah, didn’t like the way my character was developing and considering there is a level 20 cap, I decided to start over. There are some things that I did previously that I regretted too (killing certain NPC’s and ending quests early for instance).
BTW, there is the MED bobble head in the vault in the beginning, when you’re supposed to escape. It was in the lab/cafe area.
I’m very good, didn’t turn the android in, etc. Oh, and I made it through that vault simulation without killing anyone or doing anything despicable
I’m rocking some enclave power armor … but still get my ass handed to me by multiple deathclaws <_< and that’s with the one star paladin chick from the citadel.
I also picked up the alien blaster, which is OK, BUT… the laser pistol in Lyons’ personal quarters is a beast. It’s called the smugglers end… its not super high damage, but i was getting 6-7 shots in VATS. Needed 100 lockpick to crack his safe though.
