I wear the same thing to work everyday, and i love it.
All good info… I’m going to be doing some good clothes shopping once I get my tax return back. Gotta start dressing the part at work more often now that I’m working my way upwards.
Men’s Wearhouse…I like the way I look.
I like the way you look too, no homo <3
I feel like you have a thing against my line of work and choice of work.
If you’re going to spend money, buy decent ties. All the ties you find at JcPennys or Express are dog shit. Spend a bit more, get a better looking, longer last tie. (Brooks Brothers, JOS A BANK, etc)

PS - What job are you going to be assuming?
Hopefully moving into a more sales manager role. It’s not so much about that right now as it is that I am working my high end deals. I’m starting to work more $100k+ deals and I think it requires a little more professionalism. Had a $200k deal the other day and it would be nice to present the product and myself in a higher manner.
Dressing up sucks. I used to love it but I have to do it five days a week now. It makes me spend most of my free time wearing a Bills hoodie. Lol

Dressing up does suck this is one of the first weeks I have had to wear a suit everyday…
Vinyard Vines ties FTW
100% true, but cheap suits dont last. Especially if you have to wear them everday. if you are cycling between 3-4 $150 suits 5 days a week you will need to buy more in 6 months.
largely true, but like many things (watches), the men / women that CAN tell the difference are the ones that matter. This probably doesnt matter right now for the position in question but eventually a $150 suit will simply not do.
My recommendation, after doing your initial buy, is to learn how to wear sport jackets with different pants. It will make your warddrobe way more versatile and easier to develop. Since i’m pretty thrilled you started this thread
if you need some gear asap do what you have planned. but learn your size, learn what fit you want and then check out the Saks and Buberry outlets in the falls every now and again when it’s convenient. i have 3 Burberry suits from the Burberry London line that i picked up at the outlets last year and they will make you cry they’re so awesome. The Barney’s outlet has private label stuff that is reasonable for under $500 a suit too.
When you get real good at spec’ing out gear you can start buying on-line… i just picked up an Aquascutum suit and a jacket on-line. The suit i brought in with my sock buy, the jacket i scoped off ebay.
made in London, hecka slim, functional surgeon cuffs, single button, ticket pocket, half-lined, unstructured, 100% wool… BNWT for $90 shipped from the UK…looool… it would be a $800+ piece off the rack in a store. and check that lapel…
i swear buying car parts is actually boring now.
also, if you notice the brown belt in the james woods pic… get a nice brown belt and a nice pair of brown shows and you’ll stop wearing black shoes 80% of the time. brown is more awesomer

if you check style forum or ebay you can get very high end BNWT ties all day long for anywhere from $30 - $75.
threads like THIS
Heck, i was flipping cashmere and silk Zegna and Canali ties on styleforum for 1/5 retail… i get why people use jos a bank and BB but you can get 3 times the tie on-line for 1/2 the price. I have a couple solid colour BB ties that i snagged for $20 a piece ($65 reg) but they are stiff and don’t drape as smartly as a softer 100% sild italian made tie.
i prefer the slim fit shirt, and producer pant @ express > any other combo i have worn.
i also have 2 vests from there which are decent but retardedly expensive . and by retardedly expensive i mean they are only 100$ at most lol, but still. not a fan of their ties. their belts are pretty decent.
i believe when everything switches over to their spring/summer clothes it’s when they’re getting rid of all their “old” dress shirts. usually they are all like 19.99.
I know a lot about suits
Here is a pic of James woods and I
Continue to talk about my vast knowledge of business attire
(Not trying to make fun, I just found it really funny, and random)
I like your advice on suits and that jacket is bauce. However, squared end ties fucking suck. UGH, nice tie bar though

meh, post edited… if you guys wanna take it that way then forget it.
i dont have many pics that work for a thread like this… and pics are necessary.
btw… that red square bottoom tie is a silk knit Canali i picked up at Harry Rosen for $20
patience when shopping = paying next to nothing for awesome $hit
Lots of good info in here. Thanks guys and keep it going. Give me some ideas/pictures of what ties you guys like. That’s the hardest part I am having is picking what ties to get. Also I don’t think I could bring myself to buy $70 ties. Not right now anyways…
Banana Republic Slim Fit Wrinkle Free shirts = FANTASTIC!
Dressing up is fun if you have the right income/job to support it.
It only sucks when youre poor and/or ugly.
lol.
Who is James Woods? Post the picture back up. I have three suits, all cheapos. One from Men’s warehouse that sucks. I wore it maybe 15 times and its starting to fall apart, and is sized incorrectly so I look dumb in it. One from Brooks Brothers Black Fleece which is awesome and fits great and another cheap one from J Crew or someplace like that. I really like the Brooks Brothers one though. I don’t dress up alot…luckily the oil field isn’t fancy.
I have a meeting on a yacht this Sunday in the Gulf of Mexico to talk about building automated oil rigs. What to wear? Jeans, polo, hat and sunglasses.
