my friend has 2, ill ask her
yes they’re legal, 100 to 140 a piece, most pet stores, high quality ferret food.
so i cant just throw him a rat or a bird like i saw on the internet?
Is it true that you can train 'em to use a litter box just like a cat? I’m also thinking of getting one but I don’t want it shitting everywhere.
Ive had two ferrets. They can run from $100 to $150. You can train them to use a litter box but its not as easy as one would think. If you get one make sure you train it early and inforce the rules as if you dont it will be craping any where it pleases. They eat ferret food and they are nice but they smell. I would give them a bath atleast once a week if not 2. Use babyshampoo when you wash them cause they like it better.
They do smell like shit but they are awesome pets. The one I used to have would sneak out of his cage at night and crawl up in my bed and sleep in my tummy like a little baby. I would wake up every night with it sprawled out like cat or something. They are great to play with also, they are like little mini wiener dogs or something. At least mine was.

ask a pet store to clean their cage one day. that will QUICKLY bring you to your senses.
Ferrets are cool. WARNING: they are and like to get in to situations that are not so good.
i was actually thinking about buying several and letting them loose into my 7 acres of woods and tall grass, kewl huh?
they’ll be gone fast, then probably die in the winter or killed by a car or animal…
so… not “kewl” per say…

I love all the misinformation in this thread, if you have never owned one why post? and a friend owning one is no where near owning one. and please don’t bath them once a week, that’s too frequent.

I’m gonna go check those 2 I was looking into this weekend and see how they are in person; GF is not allergic, thank god.
