ok so some kid is interested in my car from around albany, im going to meet him in binghamton, iv sent him tons of pix and explained everything to him. hes interested, we agreed on a price everything is all good. now, what kind of payment should accept? also, he asked me if i could possibly leave the plates on it so he could drive it home and he would over night the plates to me, i said idk about that idk, seems like a bad idea, what do you guys think? he said we could write something up for it
cash only. its not like ur selling the car for 10 grand. a few thousand cash isnt unreasonable. And i highly doubt he is getting a loan for it so it shouldnt be an issue.
oh, and tell him to bring his own plates.
agreed. dont give him the plates, and take cash only.
if he can get a cashiers check, he can get cash
Keep your plates. That’s not an option. Bill of sale, sign over the title on getting the $$$ or check. May want to give him a second BOS so he doesn’t get reamed registering it.
yea, i would do that, thats not problem

do all that, but with the plates…my cousin did it with his STI from another state down south, and addicted2boost did it a couple times out of state down south…i even did it with my del sol, that was only 45 mins away but still…depending on the feel u get from the way he talks to you i guess is how i wuold decide… congratz on that note tho
you’d be better off just driving 4 hours to albany and dropping the car off at his house then going 2 hours and possibly screwing yourself.
Im sure if u gave steve money for fuel ( not like its much) he’d drive out there with you for a ride back home… as would i as a co-piolet
binghampton is 3+ hours from buffalo. so yeah, ur better off just meeting him in albany. besides. albany is far from binghampton
Don’t leave plates, registration in window or inspection. Cash only.
Payment in full. Take your plates, registration, and insurance with you. It’d be a bitch if he pulls a hit and run and the cops knock on your door. Plus you can’t cancel your insurance without turning in the plates, and if your insurance runs out without you turning in the plates the DMV fines you per day.
