Figured id show a SINGLE pic of the turbo SHO project ...

That’s it! I’m converting mine back to an ATX…and stealing these plans for a turbo kit;) And even though I said a 12 may be a bit optimistic, I really do think that this car will have the potential to pull it off. Built ATX+boost+traction=good stuff

:bsflag:

sorry but I had too! :biglaugh:  your car is too sexy to change anything on.

mike’s: the nicest
ron’s: the quickest
alex’s: the most :snky:
devin’s: the most a/x ready
mine: uhm… the deadest? maybe the lightest right now :baby:

I had thought about this for a bit: alex, if you did go the regular taurus fascia, you could use the stillen cover in the front and it would give you more mounting room than the stock SHO fascia.

plus it would add even more to the originality too.

keep 'em coming.

i’ll be bold and say that my car will be in the 13’s. completely stock running a 15.6-15.8 i trapped at 86-89mph (depending on if the tranny felt like shifting fast or not) but the only consistant thing about my runs is the 60’ time. 2.22-2.24 every time no wheel spin on a 2900 stall goes pretty good.

the only reason SHOnut runs so fast is the fact that he runs dragslicks i don’t think anyother sho’s are running dragslicks… oh his 15psi blower helps too

  • my gearing will be better for this kind of power

mad props.

were not done yet there will be no props

looks to be coming along quite well

I don’t know the specs on the turbo itself, but, from what i gather it’s fairly large. My question is then, why are you running only 9psi? if you were anticipating on running 9lbs max the whole time wouldn’t a smaller snail be more efficient and spool quicker while delivering maybe a little less HP topend but i’m sure a 2500rpm full spool would make a lot more mid-range.

either way i’m sure you did your research and made that choice for a reason. are you anticipating a forged bottom end in the future?

Factory forged parts > *

Why spool at 2500 rpms, when the torque converter stall is around 2900?

:word:

With that turbo he should be making nearly full boost at 4K. 9psi is the keep the TQ < 350 as to protect the $4100 trany. I think since this one is #4 Alex would rather not swap another trany in this car.

:ham: on me, i forget that this was an auto with one dem damn fangled stall converters.

ouch, 3 trannies already and your just putting the turbo kit on now? damn how did the first three go?

i’ve had 2 pretty odd failures but none the less 3 failures, so this time i went for broke and if this one fails i’m setting the car on fire. (no i don’t have fire insurance) the engine will take 14psi and could take more with a really good tune but i’m not that bold. + i think 300-350 Hp will keep me happy for a while. and factory forged internals FTW!

writen by somedude

duct tape and zip ties are the 2 greates inventions of all time

Sell me the turbo kit before you torch it! Can you say dual power adders for 500 WHP Taurus? wonder how long 3rd gear would hold up? Then I’d have to torch mine too.

it just sucks that i’m going to finish this project and pull out of my driveway and have someone slam into my car and the insurance would only give me $3100 when there is over XXXXX into it for this project

:word: I got about $16000+ into my car and I can’t even get 7 for it.

your car would be a terror with a supercharger on it with all of the engine work you have. 6psi would yeald you over 350WHP easy

Never said I could have, when I said I would’ve done something else, I meant not a 4 door ford.

my bad i must have read it wrong:lolham:
