I did the turbotax free and it still says I need to pay 25 for state filing? is there a way around this? am i doing it wrong?
Taxfreedom and turbotax free are not the same product.
The only free one is taxfreedom, you do not pay anything if you make under 30k per year or active duty military.

Don’t know if this has been mentioned before But I just e-filed both state and federal for free with www.taxslayer.com
The IRS has a link to free file also.
This year, I used the torrent from the Pirate Bay for the super mega expensive version of Turbotax. Ended up paying 19.95 to file state, nothing for the software. I’d call it a good deal if you need a tax program with all the bells and whistles.
