I pay $54/month for Fios internet.

DirecTV is somewhere around $120 (every channel possible - hbo-show-cin- starz) but every 6 months I call and complain and they bring it down to $75 lol. I’m not under contract and I have FIOS Internet, so they know I’m not kidding about switching to FIOS TV.

$25 to have Fios rather than dog shit Time Warner? Sign me up.

Beck, how many boxes? I have 4 boxes w/ whole house DVR and it is somewhere around $65 per month no movie channel up grades, just sports upgrades, but I am in a 2 year contract currently.

1 central DVR box and two other whole home DVR recievers.

Do you have all the premium channels? I think it’s around $60/month for HBO/Starz/Shotime/Cinemax/etc

No premium channels. I ditched them after my free trial was up and renewed my sunday ticket for football.

I ditched my FiOS TV (actually it’s suspended) and just have 15/5 internet. We never watch TV and now just use a friends netflix account for movies and shows.

sorry but that is not possible, i am quite sure you have DSL not Fios internet. They do not bundle fios internet with DTV. There deal with directv is DSL bundles for areas that can’t have fios.

That was my understanding also

There is no way they would make it worth their time to run fiber to the home/etc and then offload TV to another provider.

Ok actually it sounds like you have both services separately not “bundled”

Same here, though I can honestly say I miss having TV service there are just some stations/programs I cannot get via streaming or downloads. I am still strongly considering getting a Infinititv Eth and a cable card from VZ. When I canceled my TV I went to 50/25 interwebz since they wanted to charge me higher for my 25/25.

Had Alex (somedude) come out yesterday to hook up directv. HD is just as good as Fios, pretty much same channel line up that I had, Genie and mini Genie, $45 a month.

No, the previous owner had FIOS TV/Internet. DirecTV (this was 2 years ago) offered a bundle package where I could get DirecTV and use my existing FIOS line for internet. Verizon came in, installed the modem and just hooked me into the pre-existing FIOS system. I get a FIOS bill every month and I think I save $20 doing it this way.

I already had the equipment.

:bump: back up

I switched to Time Warner for internet after fios wouldn’t help me at all and wanted $80 + fee’s just for the slowest internet speeds. After 10 months with Time Warner the service blows. I have the 15/1 package for $34.99 a month and its always cutting in and out. Tried different modems and still had issues. Last month they drew my payment late and charged me $20 even though it wasn’t my fault. That was a huge deal trying to get that taken care of.

Fios has been sending me offers in the mail for triple play package but I don’t need tv and I don’t want a phone. Monday they call and offered me 50/25 internet with modem/router for $44.99 locked in for 2 years. So I’m now back with Fios.

My 50/25 FIOS plan test results:

I get that speed all the time, 100% reliable, 150-200GB a month in usenet stuff alone pretty consistently month to month and they’ve never said a word to me about that much data on a residential account. In the past 4 years I think the only time my service went out was when the entire neighborhood lost power.

I still need to switch to FIOS…I’m getting real sick of TW’s shit service. Can barely stream Netflix because of how slow it is and I pay for better speed every month.

Nice deal I was paying almost 80 a month for Internet only they wouldn’t budge and I didn’t want Time Warner. I now have Prime HD + 50/25 with a cable card for just sigh of a hundred a month with taxes.

I need to lower my payment…Running 50/25 and Prime HD I think (215 channels).

Do you have there settops? That is where the cost can start adding up.

$104.48 /month, locked. 50/25, HD Prime + cable card. HTPC’s acting as DVR so no need for any of their settop boxes.

I only have one set top box, no DVR. I had my cable suspended before (vacation mode) and just had it reactivated a couple weeks ago automatically. It actually cost me less to go from Prime HD + 15/5 to Prime HD +50/25. It’s still kinda high. They want $140 this month but i think the months following it’s going to be like $110ish.

And I’m back
