Yes you have to pay for re-inspection, and it matters what you fail for. You failed the safety portion so you will only pay 10 bucks to reinspect. I have failed before for having a licence plate light out at valvoline. The socket was rusted out so they could not just pop a bulb in. The other one worked but they still failed me.
I need to find a place for my pops for his 58 MGA. The car is absolutely spotless, and he cringes when greasy mechanics crawl into his car and poke around at it.
honestly, just make an app’t to a shop you take your car to the most. even if there isn’t one, geez - we’re on a car forum, make a thread about where to get a good, legit inspection that won’t rip you off… then we’d have no more ‘fuckin’ goddam firestone sucks!!! OMG what a surprise
My car is old, does not need a OBD II test. The exhaust portion of the inspection for my car is just a visual that it has a cat. I dont have a cat on though but never failed
shrugs, I’m glad I have the hookup for the Inspections… no need to bother with emissions, cats, or anything else; even for an OBDII car. As long as I pass a plug-in test, I have a blind inspector.
I never go to Firestone or Goodyear unless I know somebody that works there. Just not worth the hassle. Because unless you know someone, those places will try to rip you off. Thank God Sean’s a nice guy!!
I got tired of dealing w/ firestone after arguing w/ them for 30 min i decided… not worth my time… I will be seeing sean at his new and improved location… closer to my house
I’ll also bring the V-Daub to him to see if he can figure out the tricky tricky way to get into reverse…
When I first got my ESi (and was a no0b), I took it to Firestone for an oil change (one on rte 9 in Latham/for you Albany members). Never will do business with them again. They dumped 6 quarts of oil into that engine=blown seals for the spark plug cylinders. It took me almost 5 months of fighting with their corporate office before I was compensated for the repair.
