probably. see, from my experience its the car. im lazy so i wont shave for like 3-4 days and i look like a decently dressed bum that stole the car, right? so im in the mitsu i got stared down by cops and got stopped a lot. i still look and dress the same, but now they dont bother even looking at the audi. its like im not there. they will look in my general direction, but i dont connect eyes with em. they dont look at a particular car, its just flow of traffic. in the mitsu i saw then turn their head and follow me with their eyes.
I know, being a chick got me out of trouble a few times. I don’t even doubt it.
- Got pulled over, Cop is my dad’s second cousin, let’s me go for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign, and having no proof of insurance.
- Got pulled over, Cop lets me go for both tail lights out. (This is two days after the Nisky incident, one day before service appointment)
- Cop has someone else pulled over, hears me laying on my horn and screaming, waves me to the side of the road, I explain someone went straight in the turn only lane and cut me off wicked bad, he tells me have a nice day and calm down.
- Got pulled over for “street racing” on Wolf Road, told the cop the guy next to me was driving like a mad man and I was scared, he gave the other guy a ticket and told me sorry about the misunderstanding.
The first two are probably just the cops being nice, since I have no other tickets or anything, but the second ones are excuses that only a girl could really get away with. :lol
you guys are all super paranoid.
why are you mentioning what you wear? I’m pretty sure they can’t tell what you are wearing when they pull you over.
i highly doubt they stop me if i was in a jacket, white shirt and tie. that gives me an idea. make a shirt that looks like im wearing that and put it on for driving. HA!
:+1 they dont care what your wearing, and the more they “care” about what your wearing the more they are profiling
mmmm, idk. id include clothes into the profiling category.
Try to prove that a cop pulled you over based on profiling. Good luck.
well if you havent done anything wrong what is he pulling you over for then? Anything can be prove, whether it be true or false, unfortunately thats how our legal system is set up, look at OJ simpson
this maybe one of the dumbest things EVER!
It is incredibly hard, if not impossible, to tell what people are wearing as they drive by. You maybe able to catch a glimpse at the shoulders, but thats IT! and thats not enough to tell what they are wearing.
This is sort of off topic, but I just thought of it from reading this thread and thinking about the stories I’ve heard from cops I know…
My Uncle in Jersey is a cop, and just like everyone flies down Vly road by Memory Gardens, they have a similar situation there with people doing 50+ on a 30mph road. So down about a quarter mile from the bottom of the hill is a shopping plaza, houses, and the elementary school. So of course he sits at the bottom of the hill, just like the Colonie cops do on Vly, and tags the speeders.
Well on this day in particular, he picks up a Buick going about 80 down the hill, pulls out behind it and throws on the lights.
The Buick doesn’t pull over, so he hits the sirens a few times to try and get their attention. They still don’t pull over.
By this time he figures he’s got a persuit on his hands, so he calls it back into the station.
He follows it down the road, where it pulls into the shopping plaza. Follows it through the plaza full lights and sirens.
The car pulls into a parking spot behind another car, and he pulls up behind the Buick blocking it in.
With full lights and sirens going, everyone in the parking lot is scared to death and watching from the grocery store.
My uncle sees the driver messing around with stuff in the passenger seat, and inside the car, and thinks the worst…
He gets out, gun drawn, screaming at the driver to get out of the car and put their hands on the hood. No one gets out.
Finally, he sees the door open, and I kid you not a 90 year old woman gets out of the car, turns around and sees him, and almost drops dead from shock right then and there.
He runs up to her, and shes going on and on about what’s going on, and what does he think he’s doing, who does he think he is, she has done nothing wrong, etc, etc.
Now of course by this time the backup is there, and four cruisers are there, all the officers wondering what the fuck.
My uncle tells the old lady he clocked her doing 80 in a school zone, and she tells him there is no possible way, her car doesn’t even go that fast, she has never had a ticket in her life, SHE KNOWS THE MAYOR SHE CHANGED HIS DIAPERS HOW DARE YOU MAKE SUCH AN ACCUSATION!
Well long story short, he hands her the ticket anyway. The next day the mayor is on the phone asking him what happened.
Sure enough, he lets the ticket go through, and my uncle is scheduled for the lady’s court date the next week.
Well, turns out she knew the judge too, and tries to pull the “I’ve known you since you were this big” garbage.
The judge tells her too bad, and sends her to take safe driver classes on top of the 80 in a 20mph school zone ticket.
I love that story 'cause I really think old people are some of the scariest drivers out there. :lol
:+1
Ahahah, old people scare the shit out of me when they drive… One day Im comming up to the light for the side entrance to price chopper on altamont ave ,this old guy is crusing at about 15mph (im getting extremely pissed because this has been going on since the light by hannaford plaza , the light turns red, no brakes still crusing at about 15mph, turns on his blinker, slams his brakes half way into the intersection, looks both way, creeps up about 5 feet, at this point hes blocking the entrance, looks both ways and proceeds to turn right into the plaza like it was no big deal. Like seriously, how do you have a licesne?
No one can deny driving a flashy car or a car that has a reputation for having reckless drivers will get you more attention. BUT, its what you do with the attention that makes the difference. If your driving like a dick in a flashy car people are more apt to notice you, cops are more apt to pay attention to you. Course if your driving normally and obeying the speed limit your car may draw more attention than the rest but you will continue on your way unharassed by the police.
his name scott?
Dont know off hand
