:bigclap:
Oh yeah? You push your liter bike to its limits just crusing around?
Fucking squid
I’m willing to bet there is only 1 person on this board who can push a bike to its limits. and by limits, i mean after trailbraking into a turn, leaning over so far you could practically drag elbow, getting back on the throttle spinning the rear wheel right on the brink of traction, sliding the ass just so you know where you have to back off.
i dont think myself, willybeen, or many of the others here can ride a literbike to its fullest potential. that’s not an insult to anyone, thats the facts
You can start on anything you want.
You would learn faster on a bike that has less potentiol
to punish you for minor mistakes.
You may think you drive well now…
Just wait until you see how bad people really are.
Your eyes will be opened within the 1st week.
There’s probably a reason why people who learned on lesser bikes and then upgraded to crotch rockets almost invariably say not to start on a crotch rocket. I dunno. Maybe not. Maybe they’re just jealous haters that want everyone else to waste their time on something less cool too. There’s nothing more to riding a motorcycle than not tipping it over, and you can learn to not tip over on anything. Not like a really steep rake angle makes a bike respond faster to small inputs, or a high cg and narrow lock angle makes it really hard to maneuver slowly. But you never go slow on a bike. And a noob wobbling and two footing his way into a parking space doesn’t look that uncool. The big dude on the harley probably won’t hit you for dropping your bike on his.
i bought a rebel 250 to learn on this year and after 2 months, i still enjoy it. i wouldnt mind a bike with a top speed over 80mph but im still pretty content with it for what it is and what i paid for it. its extremely easy to ride, super lightweight if you drop it (and its likely that you will), and gets great gas mileage. :gotme:
I’m actually considering buying an 08 ninja 250 next year for putting around town. new ones are hot.
and this is after 600’s since I was 17. 1 ninja, 2 r6’s, and my current 636
start with a katana 500, gs500, mid 90’s kawi zx6r, yamaha fzr600, honda f2 or f3. seriously, it’s the way to go
Seriously that’s a pretty cool idea. It’s like a scooter without the ghey. And handles well. The thing probably gets like 50/80 cty/hwy.
yeah, i wonder if there’s a swingarm conversion that lets you run a real wheel and 180 rear
Did I say I push it just “cruising around”?! What happens when you assume?
Am I Vallentino? Hell no, but you can definatly feel the advantages of having a liter.
They are sooo cheap too. Can’t go wrong with it.
first bike RVT1000r …respect it and it will respect you back or you can end up like the guy on Delaware St. Ave. RD. or what ever it is
i picked up an r6 as my 1st bike. couldnt be happier. never rode anything before this. i also took the msf class. i looked at a few cbr’s when i was shopping around and really didnt care for them, but thats just me. either way its all about self control. respect the bike and it will show you respect back. be safe out there.
and i want pictures right now!!!
For a second there i thought you guys did something cool and made a bike forum, man i should have known… <3
Well no shit, but for 95% of riding on the streets you really don’t need a 1000cc over a 600cc bike. If you disagree with that statement then you are stupid or will be dead soon… I guess it’s all about self control and all that good shit, but statistics show not a lot of people have that anymore. A newer 600, older 600, 500, 1k, whatever can be a good first bike if you respect what it has.
Personally, I enjoy my 636 to the max for what i do. I would love to own a literbike someday, but for what i use my bike for now i don’t need one nor does it make sense. With the few goodies im putting on it now i can keep up with most literbikes on the road anyways
CBR 6hundo
I agree, but for the street the liter is sooo nice, i dont have to shift a fraction of the times my 600 buddies do, but for the track, i miss my 600, for wheelies i miss my 600, but for cruising you cant beat the power
ALSO, i wont let 99% of my friends touch my 10r, id let a HELL of a lot more ride my 600…
Liters, especially when geared are ridiculously twitchy… which is not good for a noob… i feel like my 10r is slow now… but what else can i go to and keep the nimbleness and speed. I cant go WOT in first or 2nd sometimes 3rd depending on temp, incline, smoothness of throttle, etc etc… yet it still feels “slow” do i need more power? absolutely not… buy whats cheap, buy whats affordable, buy good gear, be safe
99-00 I say r6 over an f4
01-02 f4i> r6 Fuel injection /discussion there
03-05 600rr for reliability and solid chassis, r6 for comfort and wheelies Both were FI now
06-07 600rr for reliability and quickness
08- the new r6 is supposed to be quite nice though…
earlier rr’s were heavier as well
new hondas absolutly are heads and tails over the yamahas and suzukis. even though alot of things about bikes usually depend on personal preference, when it comes to balance, quickness, handling, and comfort the cbr is way above the rest. I personally have a 2008 cbr600rr and i work at berts where we only carry yamaha and suzuki so i have sat on, moved, ridden every new bike and several 2007 models. I feel the cbr is best for reliability, quality, it is also much faster and better balanced. the bars are a little more of a comfortable riding position, and the prices are all very similar.
