flat spots

i’ve stored my car every winter since ive bought it and never had issues with the tires flat spotting. well i just took the whip out for a spin and what do you know, the tires have flat spots. my question is, will they go away eventually? or do i have to bite the bullet and buy new tires?

how long were u driving the car? did u get the tires fully warmed up

i dunno…maybe an hour? it definatly got better the longer i drove it, but the vibration is still there.

ya it will go away. check your pressure too. My buddys car does it every morning.

check the pressure and keep driving y0, it’ll get better

I’ve been told to avoid this you should store the car with the tires on pieces of carpet, and bring tire pressure up to 40 LBS… I’ve done that for four years and it worked for me. :gotme:

i was storing it in a garage with a dirt floor the past few years, but i just bought a house last fall and its been sitting in a garage with a cement floor this winter. so i imagine this is why i now have the flat spots. the tire pressures are at 40 psi but i will have to try putting something under the tires next season…or just put the thing on jack stands.

I was advised NOT to use jack stands for storage. This keeps shocks, springs etc. in an extended and not normal position. Don’t know if that’s good advise or not, but that’s what I was told.
