Leaving The Country For Two Weeks

So…on August 1st I’m flying to Ukraine and returning on the 15th.

I know I’ll have flat spots with the tires when I get back, but is there anything I should do to the car while it’s just sitting there? The longest I ever let it sit was 5 days when I was in California back in May.

its a car not a dog… relax…

At most just put a trickle charger on the battery

:rofl

Dude… my car sat for 6 months without flat spots, relax it’s 15 days. Cars at the dealership sit WAY longer than that. Do nothing, your fine.

+1 my car sat for 6 months and it was fine…

Do nothing and enjoy your vacation, the last thing you should be worrying about is your 1999 Nissan Maxima.

Put pieces of wood under the tires if you’re worried about them dry rotting. Inflate them to max psi and you won’t get flat spots. Thats what I did to my car when I went to college for a semester and couldn’t have a car on campus.

When you get home make sure you start it and immediately bounce it off rev limiter to blow any mice out of the mufflas.

+1 or in my case under the intake manifold :rofl

I am relaxed lol.

Thanks.

98 Maxima-High maintenance sports car.

Maybe unhook your battery so the battery doesn’t die.

bump

Whenever I go away for more than a few days I just unhook the battery. Nothing more.

my car usually sits for a few weeks then I proceed to take it out and beat the piss out of it on a track lol

you will be fine

I’ll unhook the battery and inflate the tires to about 40psi (I usually run them at 33). Thanks.

I’ve never had to leave my car for more than a couple days so I just don’t know if anything needed to be done.

Just pipe down over there Benny

:rofl :rofl

Yeah inflate them an extra 7psi, lotta good that’ll do.

If you’re really, honestly worried about flat spots you’re gonna need to put 60+psi in em.

Or put the car up on jack stands.

Or realize that it’s only 15 days and literally nothing on your car would be adversely effected by sitting for 15 days.

dude, my car sat from the end of october until last week and no flatspots in my tires… its 2 weeks dont worry about it. i left my cars un attended for 8.5 months when i was on deployment, and all i did was hook the batteries up and start them.

Are certain tires more susceptible to flat spots? I swear I used to get them on my Subaru from sitting over night…and no it wasn’t because the tires were under inflated. They were also around 35psi each.

That’s why I figured I’d get em. I have Kumho’s on this car, my Subaru had some generic brand at Walmart. General or something.

Wow I can’t believe a thread was made about something like this.

Im telling you there absoloutely no way your tires got flat spots overnight…

I had a car sit on snow tires for over a year without flat spots
