So…on August 1st I’m flying to Ukraine and returning on the 15th.
I know I’ll have flat spots with the tires when I get back, but is there anything I should do to the car while it’s just sitting there? The longest I ever let it sit was 5 days when I was in California back in May.
Do nothing and enjoy your vacation, the last thing you should be worrying about is your 1999 Nissan Maxima.
Put pieces of wood under the tires if you’re worried about them dry rotting. Inflate them to max psi and you won’t get flat spots. Thats what I did to my car when I went to college for a semester and couldn’t have a car on campus.
When you get home make sure you start it and immediately bounce it off rev limiter to blow any mice out of the mufflas.
dude, my car sat from the end of october until last week and no flatspots in my tires… its 2 weeks dont worry about it. i left my cars un attended for 8.5 months when i was on deployment, and all i did was hook the batteries up and start them.
Are certain tires more susceptible to flat spots? I swear I used to get them on my Subaru from sitting over night…and no it wasn’t because the tires were under inflated. They were also around 35psi each.
That’s why I figured I’d get em. I have Kumho’s on this car, my Subaru had some generic brand at Walmart. General or something.
