I grew up in the area and I am wondering how little control they actually had over the plane. Even with it being at night less than a mile east is nothing but corn fields and wildlife reserve, also the Clarence Soccer center which is a HUGE wide open area with probably 10 houses around it.

if it really hit nose down like that…it doesnt sound like they had much, if any control

I had met her a number of times she was a pretty fun lady, was supposed to be getting married in the near future too.

Also as chance would have it friend of a friend that works north of the border is the next door neighbor of the house that was hit.

Why was*the plane delayed for 2 hours? Could there have been some mechanical problems that they tried to solve but weren’t totally fixed?

Flights get delayed all the time. With all the bad weather in the NE I’m sure there were tons of delayed flights last night. The shuffle they do with planes if a pretty intricate machine and it doesn’t take much to cascade delays all over the east coast if one major hub starts having weather problems.

and its on the yoke, you press a switch… did you also know you can use what is called hotmic and you don’t even have to press that switch.

Keep in mind … going nose down to approach a 2300 altitude (1586 ft to hitting ground) comes up pretty quick. so panic sets in and oh hay… nose straight into the ground.

turbo prop might be different to what I’m use to… but at that point I could easily see 140knots. or

Yea, My friend that works at the airport called me probably 15 min after it went down. He was flipping a shit saying that a plane crashed in my dads neighborhood. I did not believe him at first then I turned on the TV and almost shit a brick. My dads neighbor has videos on her phone. From what she said that there was no like crash trail or anything it just fell like a brick from the sky.
