You’re an idiot, I was talking about outside of NY. But thanks for asking an obviously useless question in attempt to get an e-boner.
hah, I was just messing with you
Interstates vary anywhere from 55 and up though. It’s not necessarily a rule of thumb that most are 75.
edit:
Looks like 12/50 with a little bit of 75 zone tossed in, in Texas
If your going to be a cop, this ticket shouldn’t really hurt your chances, especially if its your first and only speeding ticket. Most agencies are more concerned with drugs/alcohol abuse and your background history. As long as thats your only ticket and you tell them the truth as to why you were speeding and you tell them you have remorse, you should be fine with getting a job as an LEO.
Edit: The time you got the ticket till now is more than enough time for most agencies to just look at it as a stupid move on your part.
We’re both right lol, I took the southern route so I was always at 70-75 till I hit NY area
Yup, Texas is indeed awesome. I do 80mph to work everyday and don’t have to slow down when I pass a LEO. :ohyeah:
Are you sure about this? Anything over 80 mph in Va is reckless driving and is a class 1 misdemeanor punishable by 12 mo in jail or $2500 fine. Unfortunately i am not so sure this will be coming off the record.
Yea that’s what I read too. I actually just paid it because I’m going to be driving through thereand has not affected me since with anything. Military bacround checks at the DMV etc. But when I called they said it’s a class 1 misdomenor just because of being over 80. The only penalty I got for paying late was interst which came to 30 dollars and driving privleages suspended only in va so I think I’m gonna stop and see a lawyer there at the end of the month cause I’m going through there anyway. If he says nothing can be done then oh well I will hope for the best.
yeahhh. most other people don’t drive 28 miles over the speed limit on the thruway. if that were the case, everyone would be doing 90+ (per current speed limit). sucks about your situation, but your justification is kinda weak.
According to the judge, DA, and my lawyer, yes, I’m sure.
Sorry man but .
so are you trying to tell me when you go on a road trip somewhere you dont set the cruise control at about 80? because when i travel during the day and driving most people are right around 75-85 but maybe im the only one that sees that. yes i know it was 28 over the speed limit but when the speed limit changes from 65 to 55 on the same highway how is the danger any different. now the speed limit in that exact spot is 65 which would be 18 over the speed limit . however even at 18mph over the limit on that stretch of highway will still be considered reckless driving and a misdemeanor. per thier law even if the speed limit was 75 or even lets say 70 now if you were to go 11 over 81 it would be reckess driving and a class 1 misdemeanor.
Did you pay the ticket/fine back in 2005 or just forget about it until now?
What exactly are you trying to accomplish again now? Do you have a warrant pending because of this or something? Go to the DMV and get your driving abstract to see what will be held against you. If this isn’t on there, don’t worry about it.
no i forgot about it untill now but it has been taken care of.
No i dont not have any warrants nor did I. I have gotten an abstract and there is nothing about this ticket on there nor does nys dmv know anything about it. I was simply trying to see if anyone else had this happen to them misdemeanor i am saying and if they did if they were able to have it looked into. i know it was a far shot because it is from 5 years ago but i thought i would ask. also i was also trying to accomplish a rant about anything over 80 is reckless driving yet some states have a speed limit of 80 i dont get that at all.
Well congratulations, if its not on the abstract it doesn’t matter.
Traffic misdemeanors aren’t held against you like criminal misdemeanors (shouldn’t you know this CRIMINAL JUSTICE?!).
And next time you speed- make it worth while. I mean going 18mph over most speed limits isn’t really going to get you anywhere that much faster. Going 83 really only gets you to miami ~4 hours faster than 65.
