For all those with verizon phones, need a new phone suggestion.

I’m gonna be upgrading at the end of this month and I want the best phone I can get for my needs. I dont use phone web service at all so I dont need anything too fancy. My main concerns for this phone is:

Long Battery Life
Non-locking ringtones (my current phone wont let me use a sound sent to me in a text as a ringtone like my old razor did.)
A decent camera with a flash if possible
An actual slide keyboard for texting

Any good suggestions?

I just got the Blackberry Curve its I like it. Its great for text and email not sure about the ringtone thing.

and he also stated he doesn’t use the Net & u need a DATA plan wit a crackberry

Yeah, nothing expensive as hell either like a blackberry or an i phone. just something simple. Was hoping soem of you had some personal experience on some of the phones out there instead of trusting the salesman to tell me how great a sucky phone is like they did last time.

when i had a Voyager i liked it & it held up great for what i put it thru, not sure if there still around or what replaced it…but seems like the LG phones hold up the best IMO

Heres the phones I think Im gonna choose between:

Samsung Intensity:

Motorola Rival:

LG ENV3:

Kinda leaning toward the LG.

I have the samsung intensity its the nicest phone on the cheapest plan you can get w/ unlimited text and no data plan. I wanted the ENV3 but you need a data plan withl those phones.

The battery life is good its easy to text with a sliding keyboard and is a really nice phone. No issues so far Ive had it about 2 months. the only problem is you have to reset your shortcuts so you dont acidentially visit the internet when your phones is in your pocket.

yeah voyager is nice. i bought one after i saw yours. bought the same body glove cover. its been almost a year and no problems. i just yesterday ordered an extended life battery for it. 4bucks on amazon can’t beat that. i would bet what ever replaces the voyager is as good or better.

if those are for sure what you decided on, then lg for sure!

blackberry tour

I have the Intensity also, and like Mike said, you don’t need a data plan. Not many choices for a QWERTY keyboard and no data plan.

My wife has the LG env3 and we dont need a data plan.

I have the Intensity as well. I like it a lot. Only thing is it doesn’t take or play received videos. At least mine doesn’t anyway. Not sure if they came out with a newer model yet or not.

Awesome battery life, It’s carried by AT&T / Verizon / Comcast / Sprint
2.4 Ghz

Did she activate it before January 18? If so, you’re grandfathered in to not having to carry the data plan until you get a new phone or make a change to your plan.

If she got it after January 18 I’d be interested in how she got it without the plan.

I was in the same boat as you. I am not willing to spend extra money each month so that I can have internet on my phone and I don’t care about apps but I wanted to be able to text and do scheduling/appointments easily. I ended up getting the Samsung Intensity for free for my 2 year upgrade and so far I love it. I have never had a phone with a full keyboard, so it makes texting and entering calendar dates/appointments much faster. I haven’t had any issues with it and the call quality is much better than my Motorola Krzr.
