Forget the LS1 swap FD, FDSM is way cooler! - Update post 152!

^^^ im not from up in roch/buff so i doubt it was me, i never said dsm’s were junk etc, but to say that honda’s are and for me not to defend them is stupid, my good friend/tuner loves dsm’s and tunes them all the time (although he owns a 530whp honda)

neonglh, ive had 1 car actually hit 11’s on 225/50 bfg’s and my last car had 100whp more but i never brought it to the track, ive ran 12.2 on low boost with my old integra on street tires and plenty of other faster cars but never went to the track as its over 2 hours away from me and i never hold onto a car long enough to actually get some slicks and go

my current build should be an easy 11 second NA car and possibly 10 second car if i decided to use nitrous

if you want to talk about its expensive to go fast in a honda then i will bring up my friends car who ran 10.7 on a stock b17 bottom end with 370whp (probably had $3,000 into the car total)

i cant stand it how when dsm’ guys get ragged on they get pissed off and go and try to talk shit about honda guys when its pretty clear there are more then enough honda’s in the 9’s ( a couple in the 8’s in street trim) and hundreds of daily drivers in the 10’s (not bad for a fwd that came stock with 100whp)

So dsm drivers aren’t suppose to get pissed and defend their interest in a thread that the original subject was a 4G63 powered car that hauls ass??

But it’s ok for Honda owners to get pissed when they get ragged on for not contributing ANYTHING useful to the thread in question?

Ah ok I think I got it now. Maybe I should sell my DSM and buy a Honda so then it’s “ok” for me to be pissed.

And I didn’t say a single thing about Hondas. To each his own is how I play it. If you can make a 15 second car into a 10 second or faster car, I’m interested in it no matter what the make or model.

This thread is going no where. It’s the same argument with a different Honda guy everyday.

To hot for high boost, my car “should” blah blah blah blah.

Bring slips, not stories.

MPD I agree with the coulda shoulda woulda. I will say this though, I don’t need a time slip to tell me how my car runs on the street. It pulls the same with or without a slip.

Carbonfiberhooded I think you hit the nail on the head with interest dropping in these cars both with DSMs and Hondas. Seems like there arent many people left who are willing to spend the time and money to put a quality setup together. Bottom line is that you can build a damn quick car regardless of which one you decide to build.

PS that FD would go quicker with an F20C under the hood.

i never said dsm drivers couldnt defend themselves, its just everytime they do they have to try and put down a honda in the process

i feel the same way, a fast car is a fast car, a well built car is a well built car, and i feel the same way with the same argument except it seems the dsm guys are the ones who are ready to defend themselves by putting down other cars lol

and i dont need a slip to say how fast my car is/was, i build my cars for the street and if they hit the track its an added bonus

i’d be willing to bet my builds are right up there with the top people on most forums and i pride myself in the cars i build wether it be a honda or my dads 69 mustang

who said anything about excuses, i never brought up any excuses except i dont get to the track as i build my cars to be fun on the street since all my past cars have been daily drivers (how many people on this forum have 4 or 5 400+hp daily drivers they have built themselves and daily them?)

:purextc:

BTW, you still have that car? For some reason I thought you sold it. I am coming down your way here in a few weeks, I’ll look you up, ok?

Smith, I don’t think anyone here doubts you’re ability to put together fast cars. :):mpd:

Mark asked alpha whatever how many 11 second (or ever 10 second) cars he’s built, he responded with a bunch of rambling stories about “could have” “should have”. The proper answer would have, aparently, been one. I call 'em like I see them.

Its not about honda vs dsm or whatever you think it is. The douche bag that came into this thread owns a honda and he said this and that about honda’s. It’s not like any of us dsm owners started talking shit on Honda’s but with him talking shit and saying his Honda is so amazing is what got it started. Earl has built some cars easily capable of ten’s period. Maybe he doesn’t have slips or anything but they were definitely capable of ten’s with slicks. This is 95TSIAWD$ on bryan’s account. Earl goes through cars at least 3-4 times a year. IMO thats not enough to dial them in 100% and get them to the track.

Deep pockets are all you need to go fast, the ability to turn a wrench is optional

Deep pockets, and the ability to drive. I bet money that if you put a lot of people into studderin’s camaro here, they run 12’s.

UPDATE**

The MAP Performance FDSM just went 8.21 @ 166 mph

:jawdrop: listening to the turbo spool just before launch is amazing

50psi, holy shit.

lol. I thought the bump was going to be because the fuckin thing blew up.

Cool.

The was the LSA and t6060 out of a CTS V on ebay a few weeks ago with a buy it now price of $7k, but it wasn’t on there long.

They will definitely see 7’s next season.
