If I ever get SUPER bored, I may build a simple turbo kit for my neon I have now, since it’s so easy to do and I know the platform so well, but it’s nice just having a reliable neon for a dd, and a fun race car as two separate entities

I dont know if you DSM people are delusional or what but DSMs were the laughing stock of the quick import guys around here for years. Back in the day all we had was homos in riced out NA pos ecplises and a bunch of slow basket case turbo cars.
I better be careful in my Honda with no time slip next time I go cruising there might be a fast DSM lurking around the corner.

I’m glad that nyspeed represents all the fast cars around here. Thats like saying that because 100 dsm’s didn’t break that it’s just a stero-type.

There are a lot of fast reliable Honda’s in my area. Were they cheap? Fuck no! Ask Brian, he’s spent tons. And a lot of his friends. Tons of them are 400+whp. I have nothing against Honda’s but I don’t have respect for douche bags like the ones that came in here not realizing that our cars are just as fast and reliable as theirs are. Seems to be the 607 area has the fast ass Honda’s and are reliable and the Rochester/Buffalo area are were the fast reliable DSM’s are. Some people on here read one thing on a forum about a certain car being this or that and assume it goes for all of them.

I don’t know. In years past Buffalo had a lot of fast Hondas and not too many fast DSMs.
I’ll admit, it did take a little longer for the DSM guys to catch up, and there really are still not that many fast ones around these parts as interest in them has dropped.
If Devious hadn’t gotten robbed, he’d be in the 9s this year. Neonpwr98 probably will be soon. Orzech would be an easy 10 if he would just hang on to one instead of selling them as soon as they crack a low 11. Jskrapper would be a low 11 if he’d go awd. eviltsi will be a low 10 second car when its done.
There’s a few more in Rochester but I think thats about it.

its funny , i would say in my area about 50% of honda’s are riced out and slow and 99% of the dsm’s are riced out or think they are 10 second cars just because they have a fmic
ive built plenty of 11 second (possibly even 10 second) capable cars and im on this forum but i guess i dont count
statistically speaking i bet i could go out within the 100 mile radius of my area and find more faster/well built honda/acura’s than i would dsm’s and i bet its the same everywhere, hell the only dsm’s that i know of right now are broken down or still in the 14’s

If you are the same person I am thinking of, I saw your car when I was working at Innovative. If I remember correctly it was running poorly due to a list of issues with the build (which is common). You had them all fixed up by the next time you stopped by and it looked good :tup:
I also work with one of you teachers from ECC and he said you are a pretty smart kid. He also said your teg was above and beyond all the other honda kids there. I have nothing against you and you seem like one of the good guys, but from what he tells me…there is some bad stuff going on with other kids rides at that place.
The reason why I get so upset i guess is, I have had my DSM since '98 and it has been a hell of a car the whole time. Traps a hair under 120 @ 19psi pump gas and street tires. Maitenance is minimum for a car with double factory hp#'s. My DD is a 91 Talon with 175K on the motor and she is running still…with only a head gasket job recently. Having worked at Innovative and being at NAPA, I see what type of shit is out there…and it’s in all brands.
