The funny thing about using “fggt” is that on both forums the members call each other that in fun, yet when it’s used between members of different forums it’s automatically assumed the other is talking shit. More proof the forums are alike.

I have had a 71 Chevelle with a Pontiac head, destrocked alum rod 283 that regularly saw 12K rpms, a 68 Nova that ran 10.80’s in street trim, a 87 Starion with a bottled SBC transplant, a 944 LT1 swap project, a couple 69 Camaros (my favorite was tubbed with a 496), a 98 LS1 Firebird HPDE ride and I am currently building a LSX powered 92 Firebird for IHRA Bracket Racing.

Most everything above was done in my garage, it’s a hobby/passion/therapy.

But the key point, I am small potatoes on Pittspeed.
Most guys there have more knowledge/experience than I.
And I can call any of them for help.

I’ll be honest, I have not seen a benefit of having Pittspeed here…granted, forums always go through phases, and members come and go, but I don’t know…some things are better off left alone…

If i can predict the future… and i can… you’re going to see more forums integrate into the network voluntarily or be acquired and merged in. Eventually the tolerance level of the kind of stuff that certain pittspeeders (many…), SON240sx’rs (ahmed) and nyspeeders’ (mordak) have been largely getting away with will end when the network is sufficiently busy that removing accounts will not have any fall-out or blow back that matters.

As with any M&A some people in the aquiree revolt. Their revolt is futile but the acquirer has bigger shit to worry about than the discontent few… for a while.

By and large the merger has gone quite well and i think a lot of us are looking forward to integrating the communities further come the spring / summer.

What many people are not aware of is the tumultuous histories of SON240sx and NYspeed. as bad as this may seem at present, i’ve been through 1000X worse with SON. Imagine running the same forum off two separate URL’s with competing management teams and a userbase of several hundred to a thousand people not knowing which forum is the ‘real’ one… then remeber the OMG JOSH YOU CHANGED THE THEME!!! I’M LEAVING!!!

This latest challenge hasnt had me up to 4am on a worknight 4 days in a row on msn or on 3 hour phone negotiations… So we’re good as far as i’m concerned.

Perspective is a wonderful thing.
