I can hit it with a big stone I have, I can tell how flat it really is. You’ve seen me do it in the final parts washer, in engine building clean room before.
 It’s nice having a shop in the kitchen… i mean shop!
cool… that should fix the problem.
Brian
Head is good
Should be able to put the motor back together this weekend!
Wait a neon with a head gasket issue, you don’t say.
They should add that item to the regularly scheduled maintenance.
Glad to see that was the extent of the issue.
 If you fix a Neon headgasket right ONCE, it is never a problem again. It’s just a shame that dealers rarely ever fixed it right…
120 grit on a 2x4 re-surface… run it
Dealer techs would just lift the head and slip in a new gasket. They wouldn’t even bother removing the old one…
Apparently for how few hours Dodge was paying, it was the only way to not lose your ass doing the job.
not like GM flatrate and the cavy money makers??
the surface finish looked fucked up, but the head is still money. Passed the dummy .001 feller go/no test. I wanted to be sure, so put on the surface plate. Mike have his own when he was a mold maker, witch is really nice. With a interapid indicator its within .0005 still the HG damage spot. The casting is impressive.
 Sweet. Sounds like it’s ready to rip.
What was your cooling system doing? spitting out fluid?
Oh yeah, car overheated after 5 miles or so.
