Four cops murdered near Tacoma Washington

I never assumed anything. Look back at my posts.

Police carry weapons for a reason and I’m not saying this guy didn’t deserve to be shot. All I said was that it worries me whenever a suspect is shot and killed by police and the community-at-large applauds the effort blindly, without taking a moment to make-sure the right decision was made.

Police are not infallible and not everyone suspected of a crime is guilty of said crime.

All this is besides the argument that human life is sacred and should always be preserved. I have an inkling that many of those who are “happy” this guy is dead, would’ve liked to see him die for his crimes anyway (if convicted). We just bypassed a lot of “unnecessary” time and cost in bringing him to trial.

Meh whatever, I am just glad he is dead to be honest.

Jesus, what the hell is with nyspeed lately and defending obvious criminals…
This guy was clearly a piece of shit, walked a shitty road in life, and got what was surely coming to him.
If you don’t want to get shot by the cops, don’t go shooting cops!

you guys… but seriously… anyone know what’s up with Tiger?

dude… $164 fine.

Where do you see people defending this guy?

this

Not defending him exaclty, but certainly knocking law enforcement down a notch:

I always look at how “Bucky” was handled after he was shooting police, cops hold that trigger in these situation longer than others because, sadly, its assumed by all that they want instant vengeance and to seek their own justice. I’m sure some do, but most don’t want their careers to end over some pussy with a gun.

Other than my first quoted comment, which was sarcasm, I was not knocking the actions of police. I am only questioning the actions and trying to inject some level thinking in an obvious emotional topic.

If I come off as anything different, it’s because I have personal experience with the groupthink that goes on in law enforcement. I appreciate and respect the folks in law enforcement, but they are people the same as us and susceptible to mistakes in judgment. That is why we have courts.

You have to admit, the fact a suspected cop-killer ends up getting shot and killed by the police pursuing him seems a bit ripe for investigation.

ppfff… BigEd… is that ALLLL you could find?

dig up some dirt on tiger… THEN i’ll be impressed.

Poor Tiger. All these years being so good at avoiding the press he never learned how to handle them when you fuck up and end up in the news. Without that lame ass lie he came up with this would have been out of the news the day after it happened.

How is it ripe for investigation? I see very little, if anything, supporting that statement.

:picard: I’m done here

You can picard all you want. I’ll wait for the logic.

A convicted felon with multiple violent convictions committed 4 premeditated murders 48 hours ago. He evaded arrest and was on the run. The man was believed to be armed and undoubtedly dangerous.

The officer draws his gun (standard protocol) and gives basic commands to the suspect. The suspect, with the above history, makes a sudden movement that could be and should be taken as reaching for a weapon.

The officer made the correct decision. Obvously an investigator will be done as with any shooting. But this is ripe for investigation based on what again?

The man was a suspect. It’s been reported that there were at least three other people who may have been involved in the shooting. Are you 100% sure he was the trigger-man?

Police have yet to ascribe a motive. A determination of premeditation, while reasonable, is premature.

The man was believed to be armed and undoubtedly dangerous.

The above phrase is incongruous. You can’t have an absence of doubt in an allegation or belief.

Show me the report that says he had a weapon on his person. Keep in mind the legal definition of possession. One doesn’t need to have an item on their person in order to possess it.

Finally, it is ripe for investigation because it is instances, like this, where things tend to get out of control… and for all of the above reasons.

Look, I’m not trying to defend this guy. He obviously is a scumbag and I couldn’t care less that he is dead. I’m just worried that the next time some asshole matching my description shoots some cop, there’s a chance I could catch a bullet because a vigilante won’t bother to think twice. We just don’t shoot people in America for what we think they did.

If the guy truly had the gun on his person and was about to shoot it out with another police officer, then I’m glad he ate lead.

edit:

It’s too easy to jump to conclusions here.

What if he wasn’t the guy who did the shooting?

What if he didn’t have a gun on him when he was shot?

What if the police officer made a mistake and acted rashly because he was, understandably, emotionally charged?

What if we’re all just batteries powering some massive computer program?

isn’t it true that anytime a Police Officer fires his weapon there is an investigation to see if it was an “in policy” shooting or something like that? Doesn’t matter that situation, some more obvious than otheres, but all are checked out.

here is a picture of the cop killer in his rightful place.

this picture was taken by a LEO on the scene, and sent to a radio show i listen too. I don’t think it will be shown to many places.
