Friend arrested at Circuit City

he has shifty eyes

looks like a terrorist?

http://www.michaelrighi.com/about/

was thinking the same.

I would bet money he was not as calm and collected as he seems in his blog. I bet he threw a big hissy fit and that’s why the officer arrested him. I have had a few run ins with the cops and never has gotten out of hand, stay calm, respect the job they do, and everyone goes about their business.

I think it’s cool to have people stand up for what they feel is right, but there are better ways to prove a point than acting like a dumbass in a circuit city, getting arrested, and then posting a website about it.

LOL…when I worked at Circuit City on Mcknight rd, there was this CS guy who would always chase after the fuckers who would do the “grab and runs”. Every time the GM would tell him not to do it, he would do it again. Fuck the gotta see where they put it…pass the registers…don’t touch approach. People are so fucking pampered.

i just read the cliffs… if this guy didnt show is DL to the police and was giving them attitude he deserved to get arrested, no matter what happened with CC

i fully agree.

if you have a problem with a retail establishment checking your shit before you leave, order everything online.

and if i hear one more libertarian or neocon use the ridiculous phrase “slippery slope” to justify a pointless argument, i’m going to fucking puke.

Avoiding situations where you think your rights might be violated is not a solution.

The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.
-Thomas Jefferson

It is good for people to have differing opinions. If we all thought the same way about everything, life would be boring and our country would tank in a hurry.

You may not see this issue the way he does, but that doesn’t make it wrong. The people as a whole should oppose government and other forms of oppression together. If you don’t see this as oppression, then don’t worry about it.

Forcing people to stay home because they don’t want to submit to illegal searches at the store, now that is oppression.

It only bothers you when libertarians or neocons say it? Is it OK when democrats use the exact same phrase to describe President Bush’s policies?

this thread is hilarous…

but anytime i see a post by beat90tsi i think of a sonny quote…
kills me everytime.

no, it isn’t… but i listen to a hell of a lot of conservative talk radio, and i hear that phrase ad nauseum.

Well, we’re at complete odds then…I think it’s an accurate description of the continous encroachment on our freedom.

is circuit city free to say, “Swarzkopf looks like a pain in the ass. If we have a loss prevention suspicion, he probably won’t let us check his shit. Therefore, he’s not allowed to shop here.”?

Most places reserve the right to refuse service to anyone they so choose. I can’t say for sure if Circuit City has that policy or not though.

I’m not sure. CostCo and Sam’s require that you become a member first, so there are ways to screen customers. I’m not sure how they could determine who is a pain in the ass without some sort of profiling, so private membership seems like the only way.

However, since they’ve decided to step over us dimes to pick up some nickels (the scumbag customers who are stealing shit), they have to put up with the customers who say screw you, you can’t check my bags.

American Express makes you pass a credit check before letting you become one of their customers. That would be fine with me, in fact I wish every good store would switch to that type of treatment. I have excellent credit and I’d have better choices and I wouldn’t have to pay the increased prices to compensate for assholes who return opened stuff the next day and make a scene when the store won’t give them their money back.

Anywhere I’m forced to become a member to become a customer, I get great treatment, including my cell phone company back when I had to pay for that myself.

Once again…capitalism wins.

I enjoy and exercise my freedoms. Some people like to smoke crack, that’s not my thing. The tone of your post seems like you’re judging those who ride helmetless.

smoking crack is against the law

Sure…I think Circuit City should be allowed to tell me to get out of their store if they want too.

he said some people “like” to smoke crack, he didnt say it was legal

Your friend is a moron. Fuck this thread:lockd:
