Is there any way to keep the choke from freezing on my Outlaw?
It seems to freeze alot in cold weather and wont start with the choke in. Last night I had to fuck with it thawing it out for well over an hour.
Since last night Ive been pulling the choke out when Im done riding so itll start. Right now though its frozen in the pulled out position. :headbang
What can I do to prevent it from freezing? Will silicone spray help?
I keep it outside and have no other option. I cant keep it in the garage.
Any non-water based lubricant should work, so silicone or wd-40 or something like that probably will, although I’d check their temp range
just to be sure.
Ill have to grab some tomorrow.
Silicone spray worked great on a frozen trunk latch and door lock on my Mustang today when I had to get into it.
yes definetly some oil base product.Had the same problem with another quad.
use wd /40 its petrol based so it will stay there and not freeze

I tried Liquid Wrench last night and it didnt work.
Don’t use silicone, it’ll gum up in the really cold weather. WD40 is your best bet aside from tearing the choke apart to find out what the issue is. You might have some residual water that’s freezing up while it sits. WD40 does tend to displace water.
I think it just gets wet from riding. My brother has the same quad and it did the same thing Friday night.
Wd 40 is definetly the way to go…put the straw on the can and spray it into the cable on both ends then work the choke. Do that a few times and it should work better.
