Myth.

The car was a four-door Pontiac 6000 LE with 1,600 miles on it at the start. We drove 300 miles in each of the combinations described above, maintaining a 60 MPH speed on more or less level interstates throughout. Here’s what happened:

Windows up, AC off: 35 MPG
Windows up, AC on: 34.4 MPG
Windows down (all four), AC off: 33.8 MPG

Make sure your tires are up to proper PSI and drive around town with AC off and windows down to help with your MPG.

Car-wise I refresh audizine and fourtitude classifieds about every 20 minutes looking for parts. I haven’t paid ANYWHERE near retail for 95% of what I’ve purchased for my car; repair parts and upgrades. That and obviously do all the work yourself.

Also as mentioned, bringing a lunch saves you from an absurd amount of unnecessary spending.

That said… am i really reading a frugal thread on what started as a car based forum… modifications must be the absolutely biggest waste of money… besides when you get a whore only to find she has balls…but you get the point…

as far as what i do… i just dont pay the shift server bill here and there and go overseas and charge up 50 bucks of mcdonalds to overdraft my bank account and then throw most of it away,
