FS:2005 Cobalt SS/SC

Im posting this up not because I REALLY want to…but I need a vehicle that will work in all weather conditions and I need to sell this car before I can get into something else. So here goes…

Car is a 2005 Sunburst Orange Metallic SS/SC
Mileage is currently 36,815(which will more than likely stay that way until spring if I dont sell)

Factory options:
G85 sport package(includes leather Recaro seats and a quaife LSD)
XM radio
Sunroof
Black leather interior

Modifications Include:
K&N cold air intake system
gm stage 2 hub with a 2.8 pulley boys pulley
60# flowmatched sieman deka injectors from New Era Performance
Ingalls Engine Dampner
Avid racing transmission+rear motor mounts
B&M short throw shifter
SSBC big brake kits custom powdercoated orange and engraved with “cobalt” on calipers
Exedy Racing Hypersingle clutch kit(6 puck clutch with matching flywheel+pressure plate)
Gm Stage 2 belt
New Era Performance dynotune:260whp/235wtq

General Maintenance:
Car has Mobil 1 oil changes as well as new NGK BKR7E plugs every 3000 miles
Car is hand washed regulalry during the summer and has never seen the salted roads of New York(have gotten caught out in the snow once but not in salt). Currently in the car there is a V1 radar detector that is hardwired which CAN BE INCLUDED for an extra cost.
Car just recieved brand new tires in september(Bridgestone Potenza s-03 pole positions 225/45/18) SSBC kits were JUST installed and the pads were just broken in(less than 500 miles on them)

The Bad:
There are small rock chips on the hood and front bumper as well as small scratches on the driver side rear quarter. The scratches are clearly only visible when you look at the car from a few INCHES away. Also one passanger side wheel is scratched from when the tires were mounted, Im not sure if it took metal off, but the gunmetal color is definately missing.

Im not looking to really make anything from the car, and I could care less about the money I lose from the mods. I’d just rather see this car go to someone who would enjoy it rather than the dealership.

Im asking $17,000 and looking to sell VERY soon(Pics will be up by the weekend as I have to have a friend take them)
KBB says vehicle is worth around 16k

If interested shoot me a PM and Ill give you my cell phone # to talk

/thread

EDIT: Bump in case if you wanna profit off him in case he doesn’t wanna do that

hate to see you lose a fun ride Brahhh

EDIT2: and it has a quaife diffy! drive it man!

Bump for Chris. Hes a good guy. This car was always well taken care of and is deff in beautiful shape. Great first car for someone.

have u tried a possible trade in i bet u will = out in the end

plugs every 3k for what reason?

cheap insurance i suppose, i do mine every oil change and thats like 500-750 miles (change my oil every 3 months, i never hit 3k)

You forgot to mention the slight scratch in the s/c…

clean car, GLWS

but i dont get it…you say you’re selling because you need something you can drive in the snow…um, i’m willing to bet i see at least 1 cobalt a day this winter out driving around…stop beating around the bush and just tell us you found an Evo already.

nope, if the car doesnt sell I’m more than likely trading it in to paddock and joining the Trailblazer SS crew haha. Ive just kinda realized that in 7 months this year this car has cost me around 13k to drive for 7 months ie. Gas, insurance, crap i bought for it and that far exceeds more than half of my yearly net income.

If that is the case, you need to limit yourself some. If that is more then half your net income why would you get a TTSS? I’m assuming you will get worse MPG and it will be slower and have a much larger initial investment.

Have you thought about just buying a cheap 2wd s-10 or the likes for winter?
You can get a nice ~2000 ish 4banger/5speed for ~2500 bucks. Take all insurance off the cobalt for the winter, and keep minimum on the truck. That should save you at least $400 on insurance a year.

Your car seems nice and it must be quick, keep it man you will loser too much money in my eyes!

Yarrh Free Bump

I dont really want a “beater” car. Plus my family gets all sorts of GM discounts which is why I bought the cobalt to begin with. It was probably one of the worst financial decisions I made when I was 18…a truck will suit my needs a bit better than this car…

But your easily gonna spend 2x as much on the TBSS. Your going from payment on a 22k car to a 35k gas hog suv! Which inurance IS NOT LOW ON. I would love to see you be happy in whatever you get but its def not going to save you $$$. Anyways GLWS, get an sti!

Well I’m going to the dealer shortly to see what I can work out…if it isn’t where I want it I dont get one…like I said…getting rid of this car is going to happen one way or another
