I just want to rant here a bit. I woke up today, got dressed, washed my car, gassed it up, made myself a lunch, and figured I’d spend the afternoon watching some NECC track day action. So after driving for 30mins (from Millwoods) I get there and the guy tells me I’m not on the list. FUCK!!!
FUCK Edmonton Garrison! They let anybody onto the base without any hassle, i could walk into any of those buildings and steal shit or blow shit up, but they can’t let me onto the gigantic freaking tarmac/runway full of nothing because my name isn’t on a list??? Where is the logic in that? I was told that if my name was on the list it was good for the whole summer. Same setup as ASA. Turns out that isn’t the case. Anyway I’m not bitching about anyone here. I’m just pissed off at the bullshit setup they’ve got going there.
And while I’m ranting here’s a big :finga: to any asshole with loud fucking piece of shit Harley pipes.
That really sucks man. Yeah they are all zero tolerence now. I think what we will do for future events is, like ASA, just keep adding names to our database, and give them the entire list each event. If you dont show up to spectate, no big deal (If you dont show up to race we make you lick Flavios exhaust manfold )
Thats just like the base in Wainwright, you can go pretty much anywhere you want other than obvious places like the ammo wing, or onto an old abandoned airstrip that gets used like once every other year.
Yup, they tightened up the rules in the last couple of weeks.
The reason we don’t just continue adding names to the list, is because that list over the summer will be 12 pages long, and that would just give them more hassle than another email to us saying to put us on the list for all of summer would
But ya, they are being a lot more strict. Last year, they just didn’t give a shit, let anyone in, but it is possible they have had some issues in the last little while, so they needed to bring back the old system they used to have a couple years back, which was strict strict strict.
…or guys can just make a commitment to come or not come and then this is not an issue.
Our access to the base is a privilege not a right and we have to respect their policies whether we like them or not. Sorry you could not get in…that blows… but you needed to pre-register as it says in the instructions.
Just add “register” to your check list of things you do to your car to get ready for the event and you are good for next time.
I have all the lists together on one file, so you could also just email me and tell me to put you on all of the lists, and I can gladly do that for you.
