ok well i come to the consclusion that my gas gauge isnt working properly!
ive done 240 kms and my gauge says its empty!
but theres no way i burned off 40$ worth of fuel on 200kms!
so what are some things i should look at!
i dont even know where to start!
all i know is in the last week ive spent 80$ on gas and havent even got 500kms!
also how can i test the fuel empty light!
something fishy is going on and i dont like it!
also whats its costing you to fill your Z31!
i can never get ore than 40$ in the tank!
Well first of all, you aren’t filling up much past half empty. It’s a 72L tank, it should cost 80$ to fill (sweet jesus).
Secondly, 300ZX gas guages are notoriously conservative. Becuase you have the Canada only “SE” model, you don’t have the “second” gas guage that shows you you’re last quarter tank. Even on my GLL with all digital, the main gas guage will show empty at around 12 litres, and then i have to watch the second numeric guage. And even when that one is flashing empty, i think there’s about 3 or 4 litres left in the tank.
Last tank of gas I calculated my milage. 100% in Lethbridge driving, was about 15 miles per gallon. not so hot, but Mines a turbo and I have a heavy foot and an exhaust and boost leak. haha. I can’t remeber quite right, but i think that worked out to be like 380km on that tank.
So basicly, 80$ for ~400 km of driving isn’t horrible in a 300ZX. Garage that beast, drive a civic or somehting. heh.
