Fuel Pressure

Does anyone know that the fuel pressure should be for a 89 s13 ka24e engine? My car wont idol properly and keeps shutting off. I have to keep my foot on the gas for it to stay on.

I would be greatful if i get some answers.

For most cars the stock fuel pressure is about 7-8 psi.

7-8psi on a CARB’D engine maybe, not on a fuel injected engine.

KAE is around 40psi, spec is 43 I believe. You will see something around that depending on how good your gauge/pump/fuel pressure regulator are.

well right now i did a fuel pressure test and im getting 45. is that good?

Yes that’s good.

ka’s are bitch with the vacuum lines, check all of them…
they may be cracked, cut, or fallen off which could definately kill the idle.

ok. i think i’ll check all of that but im glade its not the fuel pump. so vacuum lines huh. damn. well thanks for the help guys. If it isnt the vacuum lines then i’ll repost here for more help.

Q: Does anyone know how to set the minium air rate and tps?

I just wanna know if anyone can tell me where the fuel pressure regulator is located. There is a pod that overtop the fuel rail (KA-E) attached onto the intake manifold that is all rusted out on my car. Has 3-4 hoses attached to it. Just wondering if this is it. My car starts surging around 2500-2800 rpm. Checked all leaks on fuel lines and air intake. I’m guessing its this piece that’s rusted out.

Thought this might be a place to ask, instead of starting a new thread.

clean your maf
change your fuel filter and air filter
check plugs
