Fuel System problem, need help

You’re never going to believe this. It had a bad plug wire. After swapping out the injector and the problem still being there I was about to take it to a garage because I didn’t know what to try next. For the hell of it I swapped the #1 and #2 plug wires, cleared the code, and went for a spin just long enough to get the code to come back on (end of my street). Came home, scanned it, and the misfire had moved to the #2 cyl. Dug through my file cabinet and found the receipt for the wires from 11/29/01, it said lifetime, so I got a new set for free from PepBoys (why I shopped there in 01 I don’t remember). Car is running perfect again.

So what do you figure the odds are that a plug wire would go bad 5 minutes after replacing the fuel filler tube? It sure sent me in the wrong direction troubleshooting. Keep this story in mind next time you’re stumped on your own car and think you’re on the right path.
