hey guys, got to workin on my roommates winter car and have a basic and quick question regarding fuel system. Car has spark, but guy said he was messing with the timing on the distributor so that may be doing some harm. Thing is that when i disconnect the fuel line from the rail and turn the key i dont get a flow of gas out of the line so im pretty sure the fuel pump is dead, also i dont hear the fuel pump kick on when i turn to the on position. What im looking for here is someone to confirm that gas IS supposed to come out of the line when i turn the key and that if it doesnt i need a pump or to start by checking that the pump is getting a signal. Thanks fellas
would help if you told us what kind of car and what year
87 integra ls, sorry
pump is dead or a fuse/relay for it is…could be lucky and just need a relay…happend on intense98rt’s project neon
hmmm im thinking there is a good chance it is a relay, gonna have to hunt it down. Thanks guys
u should hear the relay click… if u hear it click and no fuel than its the pump, if no click it s probably the relay, but it could still be both… who knows…
hmmm thats an even better point, thanks guys ill let u know how it goes.
