How does one manage to fit a fuel oil nozzle into a gasoline powered vehicle these days???.Manufactures make the gas opening physically smaller by a good 1/2" and it’s impossible to make it fit. Moreso the fuel tube flapper valves(that keep debris out) that open from the gasoline nozzle would not have done so with this and someone trying to just flow the fuel into the tank would have made a damn huge mess, unless they intentionally jammed something in there to keep it open and even then it still would have made a huge mess as fuel oil flow out faster than gasoline from the pumps…
The spark wont burn the diesel. Flush the fuel system the best you can. Some seafoam may help clean the injectors. I would take the exaust down before the cats when you do start and run the engine. The diesel shouldn’t hurt the engine but be prepared to replace spark plugs, injectors, O2 sensors, pre-cats, and catalytic converters. Thats where the diesel may hurt things.
from all the pumps i’ve fueled up, the diesel nozzles are bigger… the ones at hess are just a little bit bigger, but the ones at stewarts and shit and the huge nozzles.
when i had my tdi swapped mk2, it had the gas filler neck in it and i was able to jam the hess nozzle in so it worked.
interesting. I’ve never seen these small filler handles for fuel, but then again I only buy diesel from places where traffic is high(truck stops, big hess stations, etc) so I know I’m getting fresh stuff in the tank at all times.
im not fixing it, i dont think he is either. its in a shop now apparently. thank you for the replies. im actually curious to see if theyve bought the motor or not.
