Gas miser thread 40+Mpg

It seems as though a few of us have bought gas misers so why not start a thread.

A few weeks ago I did some number crunching and realized that with the offsetting gas savings a miser might not be a bad idea. After looking around I found a 2008 Prius sport wagon (sport? really?). Well I bought it and realistically it’s tolerable. So far I have been averaging 51 at the computer and 53.4 calculated. The overall saving offset the entire payment. Basically it’s a free car. It’s not a bad little car and the electric torque is quite impressive. The only quirk that is hard to get used to is when the engine shuts down. The first time this happened i thought what a piece of shit! But then you obviously realize that is what is supposed to happen and you drive away silently. Long story short it’s a good daily but luckily I have toys I can still rip around on to have fun.

So who else out there has a miser? Something 40+ mpg.

Diesel miser, I get 40 mpg, tank after tank in the wagon.

Wagons are sweet.

X…

40+ in the wagon

Wagons ARE sweet.

40+ in my wagon

Wagons are sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

95 Honda Civic CX. 44mpg in the summer, 40ish in the winter depending on how I drive it. It’s bare bones so that sucks. However, I don’t have a car payment so the car has essentially paid for itself in gas savings over the last 2 years of owning it.

I’m lucky to crack 20 in anything I own.

GTFO.

I got 40+ in my JCW. Round trip from OP to Rochester on less than 4 gallons. An OBD2 reader told me I was getting 42 on the highway in the Lotus. You don’t need a Prius for that LOL.

Not in.

wtf is a miser?

haha nice.

you guys make me want a tdi

I use my wife’s Prius often and avg 55+ in summer and 45-50 in winter, with 35000 miles a year it’s silly not to use it

No, because at the end of the day, it is still a piece of shit VW.

Just scooped an 01 Prizm for a dd. Getting about 41mpg on the thruway.

Prizm’s are great for what they are. It’s a Corolla that you can get for cheaper because it has Chevy badges on it. And, it’s not a POS VW either so you’re way better off

I didn’t know minis got that good of gas mileage. That would make a fun DD for sure.

Missed the 40+ mpg thing by 4mpg in my s2000 =/
