Residual is around the 58-59% range and rates are great if you’ve got good credit. If memory serves, mine was $28k and worth $15.5 after 3yrs 36k.
So after the lease and buy out you payed $28k?
With tax and stuff that’s what it would be, sticker was $26.5. I’m an employee so I didn’t pay that, I also don’t have a base model. Mine is a 3 which has smart key at 3 doors, nav and backup camera.
At the end of the lease I basically have 3 options. I can pay the $300 fee to walk away, lease something else, or buy my 3 year old 36k mile 1 owner prius for $15.5. Obviously if I choose any of the first 2 I only have paid for what the value has dropped from what I paid down to the $15.5. At this point in my life leasing makes sense. I didn’t have much to put down because of buying a new house and a wedding in 3 months and for a couple hundred a month I’m driving a brand new car with warranty and my first 2 years of maintenance completely free. I know I’m paying more than driving an old beater because I never had to put more than a couple hundred a month into those cars but I really don’t have any interest in working on cars to fix little bullshit things anymore, I’d rather build something fun.
my stock 95 civ gets 42mpg. paid 500 bucks for it too hahahaha
boss, drive it to Florida let me know if it gets you there
<- Thursday I just drove back comfortably from Florida in an 05 Prius I picked up there. No rust
Sounds great, in the end your making out well, and sounds like you went decked out for very little of a price.
Didn’t kno you had one Jason…
Just drove home from Stowe last Monday in my mk4 tdi.
Fuel light went on at 533 miles and I filled up 12.5 gallons on a 14.5 gallon tank. So… 42.6 mpg doing 75mph on the 90.
1 passenger
Tons of equipment
Studded tires
Meh alignment
getting 50mpg (hand calculated) this summer in the insight, rock bottom prices compared to prii too.
so basically 12.5k with 45k miles and cpo warranty till 100k or 2017 for a 2010 insight. gets 50 mpg summer and 45 mpg winter. best part though is 87 octane
I don’t think there is a better deal as far as a newish gas miser with warranty goes
Just drove from north Collins ny to charleston and back (1956 miles to be exact) and only spent $125 on gas.
I’m not sure if this is the result of a “hard” break in or if my car is just a freak of nature.
https://vine.co/v/hBI5rXbX2eX <-------- Drive local with a few stops coming back from E. Aurora last night
Generally seeing a few MPG below that in 70+ degree temps
edit: there is a chance this car will be put up for sale in the next year =/
Why is that? I’ve been trying to get into one, how do you like it overall? did you happen to hand calculate that tank of fuel?
Drove from buffalo to Tuxedo park NY and back to Buffalo 1 tank. 760 miles 16.08 Gal 47.27MPG that was full of tools averaging 75 MPH in the wagon.
My business partner performed a modification to one of our second generation Prii a few weeks back.
Looks pretty good to me!
What did they do
Yes, what did they do?
What the shit dre that’s insane!
I got 99 MPG in my truck over 20 miles. It was 20 miles in the Smokey Mountains and all downhill, lol.
A factory feature in Japan and Europe, he installed a switch that allows you to use electric mode only up to 34mph. You engage it when stopped, and the gas motor automatically kicks on past 34mph, when the battery charge has 2 bars remaining, or more than 50% throttle is applied.
edit: This efficiency stuff is addictive. It’s hard to drive a regular car now. I have a far off consideration to sell my e39 m5, buy an e28 and convert it to full electric. (I still have a 240z to finish for a fun, internal combustion engine car).
