Gas miser thread 40+Mpg

I may be moving.

I like this car very much. Definitely don’t want to sell. The onboard mpg calculator is consistently high by about 1.5 mpg

Why is this not done normally in the US? We have a 2008 Prius, and average is around 46.5 mpg over a few thousand miles of DD.

I got 47.1 mpg in the TDI this weekend on a 27 mile round trip

I believe the EV mode switch comes factory on the new ones. From what I understand its a straight forward plug and play type of retrofit.

37mpg in my 08 civic this weekend… not good enough to hang with the big dogs in here :frowning:

Yes, this is correct. On the second gens though, I don’t know why they were factory in Japan and Europe but not America. Haven’t been able to find a definitive answer.

I’m almost cool enough…

Squeezed out 39MPG on my trip to Long Island this past weekend in the Corolla, and that was while averaging 75-80mph with A/C running.

I took my W12 to mid ohio and raced it and I averaged 21.6mpg and that is including 4 sessions on a race track! 287 miles each way at 75mph + whatever miles were done on the race track. That thing is a beast pulling out of corners and has awesome brakes but can’t change direction to save its life.

edit: I forgot there was one stint right before I got off the highway where I held 150mph for a few miles Than might have lowered the economy a bit although it didn’t seem to change the average it sure as hell moved the gas gauge a bunch.

As of today, after two months of ownership, I’m at:

348.68 MPG at 2100 miles driven.

I have yet to go to a gas station. I need an “LOL GAS” license plate, or “HA PRIUS” perhaps?

dropped below 30 mpg :frowning:
but made it to ceder point and back and had a great time… see your electric car do that :stuck_out_tongue:

Last tank I got 35 with the ac on in a civic :frowning:

just think, I was excited to get 18mpg to Toledo Ohio in my 6.4 f350. its lifted on 35’s with exhaust and a power programmer. and 14 mpg on the way home pulling 15000 lbs. now I just suck.

If I’m nice to it I usually avg around 48-49mpg on my buell 1200. If I drive “spirited” that changes quite a bit lol

averaged 60 mpg last tank with the prius, would have been easily 65+ if it wasnt for a major hill/mountain i have to cross everyday

speed at 65mph on the highway and 50psi tire pressure in my 2010 prius

04 honda civic hybrid 5sp

Just did some forum searching (insightcentral), and it seems like I may be holding the record for the highest mpg ever recorded on a hybrid civic. Pretty stoked.

I can get 99.9 to show on mine for a 20 mile trip, now do it for the full tank of gas

Those civic hybrid are a big disappointment imo

Exactly

seriously lol
