Hey all,
I wanna throw an idea out there for an NECC Event.
It will be much like the Dyno Day. We find a place that is officially recognized by the government, that does Decibel readings; more specifically, exhaust decibels.
We make it a day, rent the facility, and have everyone pay to have their exhaust read to get the official Db’s of their exhaust. That way, when/if you get pulled over for your exhaust too loud, you show the police officer that your exhaust is indeed less than 84db’s or whatever the limit is. And if it goes to court, you have an official document to show the judge, that you are innocent.
What do you think of the idea?
Does anyone know of places that do these readings officially? Like AMA or something?
I’d be intrested… defiantely don;t think my car will be under 84 db’s though…
Mine wont pass, maybe next year with my snail resonator.
I don’t even know what the hell 84db’s sounds like, so I could say or not.
I’m interested too, mostly to see how close GReddy comes to their claimed DB rating on the exhaust.

Interesting proposition…
BTW, where does the 84 db limit come from? Are there any exact decibel limits in affect in Alberta presently? I didn’t realize we had that.
If I went and tested at say 85 db, I’m not going to promise anyone I’ll do anything to “fix” it. 8)
The average shop (machine, welding, sheet metal is around 135 Db’s) so 84 isn’t that loud.
Just so you guys know 101db’s is about as loud as a police siren so 84db’s is still up there. So if you think you might not pass you never know.
