Gen III v8 plug removal

My truck is running like crap in the rain so I am going to put new plug wires on it. 71,000 miles. Do I change the plugs or leave them? I don’t like taking plugs (that have been in a while) out of Al heads if I don’t have to. I know that a stone cold head is the way to go. Any other suggestions or horror stories?

I’d change plugs, probally get the rears form under easier.
Gm calls for new 02’s at 50K. Id clean the TB up also. and the maf.

truck plugs are way easier than fbodies. you shouldn’t have any trouble, you seem to be quite handy. do the plugs it won’t be a problem. +1 on the clean the tb and maf also this is a common misfire probelm on these.

ya, they should come put fine. Its not like the ford OHC V8 alum heads, you might he thinking about. The gen3/4 plug placement keeps them clean and dry.
order 02s and parts form SDPC2000.com dont use bosh stuff<GM senors, and parts

the c5 ones weren’t too bad to do at 65K. Replaced them with the recommended AC Delco w/GMPP wires, using threadlocker & dialectric grease. along with the TB & MAF clean as well as seafoaming the intake beforehand, it ran like a top afterwards

GL, but you shouldn’t need it. It won’t be too bad.
