Win7?

\Windows\Minidump

Yes Windows 7. There are files in that folder, can’t open them though. Not sure what i would do with them if I could, haha.

seems the guy in that link had a crucial ssd, I have a kingston. googling kingston bsod gave this: http://dale77.wordpress.com/2011/11/02/kingston-hyperx-ssd-bluescreen-fix/ I’ll give that a shot Sunday/Monday.

Open then with wordpad/notepad they will get you detail on the crash

without looking at the logs we will not know, but just a shot in the dark…

At work we have had some issues with SSD hard drives doing this on laptops, both ended up needing firmware updates.

Does this have the latest drivers for graphics/chipset also?

This has been happening to my laptop too after I shut it off. I’ll hear the fan running and when I open it I see this.

You realize there are thousands of reasons computers blue screen and the error code at the bottom is relevant.

So chiming in and going OMG MY COMPUTER ALSO BLUE SCREENS is pretty irrelevant.

In my experience probably 50% of the blue screens I’ve encountered, a memory stick that went bad. Start there without any further info, pull them on by one.

Had this issue with a student laptop at work. A lot of posts point to the CMOS battery. Try replacing that?

have you tried restarting your computer? LOL I love this oldy but goody.

or you know just simply run memtest to see if it throws any errors. But LZ is right start with the dumps first and see what the codes indicate they do help quite a bit.

I use this… Maybe it will show you more info.

I tried doing that yesterday but am getting access denied error. no option to open as admin

Try opening notepad or wordpad as administrator then browsing to the location using file>open dialog

just a brief snippet:

Should of told me… I can look at it for you, Lz is right tho lol. Lmk bud

My bad I thought you could open them with out using another tool to get basic info

The tool Gus suggested I’ve used before. Sometimes it can indicate just a bad video card driver that needs updating. You can also check the event log and see if there is anything in there. As stated above run Memtest on it or use the built-in BIOS memory tester if available.
