Giant iPod Touch...iPad

you just don’t get it… it’s the purpose build software + hardware match and total integration that makes it better.

i guess that serves all the people that bought all mac shit well.

My hackintosh builds run 100% just as well, if not better than their Appl built counterparts.

Their software is good for the most part. Most of us are so fucking picky that nothing will ever be the end all be all, but for what I do at home, I really like OS X.

The mobile software needs a few KEY features for it to step into the highlight.

Accepting missing functionality = normal.
Viewing missing functionality as advantage = red pill.

Srsly? Won’t even support USB? Only apps from the overpriced app store? No HDMI out for the shitty expensive movies you buy from itunes? No camera? No multitasking? DO NOT WANT
That “It just works” business is such a line of marketing bullshit. The last time Apple actually tried to make their own OS was Mac OS 9. Thing was more crash-prone than a Toyota with a stuck gas pedal. OS X is just a reskinned FreeBSD that they switched to make profit

lol @ apple bandwagon hate

 This thing doesn’t have a USB port???

I wouldn’t be surprised if multi tasking shows up on this after its out.

apparently you need some goofy adapter

Just because it won’t reach W3C Recommendation until then does not mean that it cannot or will not be used until then. All of the major browsers either already support, or have agreed to support it, including IE.

Not to mention YouTube and Vimeo already playing with HTML5 Video:

Point is that there is and will continue to be PLENTY of Flash content out on the web for the forsee-able future. Not supporting Flash SUCKS.

The internet is going to run out IPs shortly anyways…No need to fight over apple and flash.

You obviously didn’t read my post. I am happy about it because I design and test websites and software for a living and I hate flash with a passion. I cannot wait to see it disappear, and apple is only pushing it out the door by not supporting it.

We all know that you cannot live without your JibJab animations and dancing elves.

Flash blows and you are hard pressed to find it being used for things of value, except video these days.

The only thing they are pushing out the door is customers.

I understand why you hate flash. I tend to agree, but it’s not going away any time soon, so you HAVE to build in the support.

Flash games also FTW. Stuck in a room anyone?

Apple sucks.

the whole flash thing is a powerplay to kill it off. apple is growing enough market share so that webdesigners are being forced to stop using it or atleast have an alternative. This is why during the release they showed a website failing to load flash, it was an insult on purpose.

Most of you are missing the point anyway, and are looking at the product like a feature list. Any product designer knows that looking at a list of features is just about the worst method of evaluating a product that you could use.

Let me know in a month or two how many have sold and we can talk about how much apple sucks at product design and marketing. (and will prove my point as to why you don’t HAVE to support flash)

I think it’s pretty obvious they weren’t going to include every bit of functionality in the first release. They have a product roadmap, which is likely to be influenced by how people use the first device, and will allow them to sell millions before launching a second device that ups the ante. Sound familiar?
