edit: i keep thinking about this - its really hard to think of something that really excites me under 20.
i think if space isn’t an issue at all, id probably look for a steal on a base targa C6…not sure if they’ve dipped that low yet tho, or that I could live with no back seats 365/year

Better off getting a year newer with the LS3.
Which won’t be that cheap however the TR6060, LS3, better interior, better diff, and a few other things are worth the money.
interesting - my dads looking at C6s now…didnt know there were that many differences from 07-08
the price bump for 08+ is big and for a reason. that said, skip 2005 and 2006-2007 are still excellent cars and getting cheap.
I’m still getting used to how rock solid and cheap these cars are to run and fix.

I would feel like a fool buying a c6 that WASNT a zo6 in the same sense that I wouldn’t bother buying a watercooled Porsche that wasn’t a turbo or gt3

also I feel like the size of a 1 is perfect for me. But aside from the n54/55 issues I also think they are ugly unless you add the m-sport bumper and CSL style rear lid.
was just talking with LZ about this… the Z06 motors have problems unlike the LS3 and with a 5-10k supercharger system you get 650 whp (maybe a bit less carb legal) and smoke a Z06 for less money invested and with more reliability. This is if 430hp is not enough for you stock.
I’m a big BMW fanboy but I hate the one series. They took the base hatchback in europe and said “Americans like coupes” so the chopped the back off and sold it here. The proportions are all wrong because it was never meant to be this.
well regardless im not going to be buying something for almost double my budget.
you can get into an 06-07 C6 for 15-25 without a ton of miles… will hold value very well and up towards 30mpg highway. also rock solid reliable.

nothing… but then again, my car has 15k miles on it.
I’ve done a few simple, cheap mods: $250 sway bars, $80 end links, $500 Z06 dual mode mufflers, $100 front Z51 spring, $100 Z06 shocks.

Take it from me from the countless texts we’ve exchanged. I’ve owned a 330, I own a e46m and I’ve drive a e36m. Hated the e36 SO MUCH. I can’t explain how much I fucking hate those cars especially for a dd. The e90 330 was pretty good, decently comfy, cheaper, decent gas mileage, tons of tech for an 06. But they do have their common issues (Valvetronic motor and sensor etc) and unless they’re sorted they’re expensive.
if if it were me it would be a E46m any day of the week. I drove mine daily for a year basically stock and it was amazing. I’ve said over and over that I think they are the best daily you can buy for $15k period. It hits everything you want and you’ll love driving it everyday. And it’ll always be worth decent money whenever you decide to ditch it and they’re much more reliable than people think as long as it was cared for and you can do simple shit on your own. Look at your old one with Ian. That fucker is beat to piss with a bunch of miles on it and she’s still going great.
E46M’s do still look great with a good suspension / tire set up…
