same thing happened to a buddy of mine about a year ago… except he’s alittle on the slow side ( ) and drove it till he really fucked the engine up… but in the end the place that changed the oil had to replace the engine and the kid who worked on it got fired.
we now take you back to your regularlly scheduled
I Never Put A Pf47 On A Aveo They Get Their Own Special Filter So I Dn Dont Know The Part # But Its Black With A Plastic Cover Over It And Smaller Then A Pf47 I Only Changed About 30
Just Checked In Parts Same Thred And Diamter But Not Same Height Also Gm Said Not To Use A Pf47 On A Aveo They Get Their Own Filter
Car quest has all the Chevys useing a B111 filter and the suzuki useing a B4711. Wow same filter size compleaty diffrent engine. I can under stand that the mazda 6 and taurus have the same motor but the aveo has a 1.6 Liter, Cobolt 2.2 and 2.4 and the suzuki has a 2.3-liter engine. I understand that GM makes parts for both but I still dont understand why you would go there. I work at a Hyundai dealer, Hyundai’s use some of the same parts as Kia’s but you dont take your Hyundai to a Kia dealer do you? Your just asking for something like that to happen…
The companies may be connected, some more strongly than others but that does not mean that the factory warranty will cover work done wherever. Seems to me the big selling point of the suzuki was cheap with a huge warranty. Does the warranty pay for repairs done at chevy dealers or if something later goes wrong as a result of the chevy dealer?
Very doubtful. My queston still stands.
1: My car has a 2.0
2: Any idiot can do an oil change.
I’d imagine Baierl Kia would have no problem doing an oil change on my mom’s '05 Elantra.
According to Fountain Suzuki AND Courtesy Suzuki, work performed at any GM dealership is within the “OKness” of my warranty. Oil changes can be performed by anyone (myself included). What people don’t seem to understand is that there really is no Chevy/Pontiac/Suzuki/etc… they are all GM cars, sold at GM dealerships, serviced by GM mechanics… the individual marques are for marketing and aesthetics only anymore.
My engine and transmission were made at a Holden plant in Australia. The rest of my car was made at a GMDAT (formerly Daewoo) plant in South Korea. Because my car was made for the US market, it got the Suzuki Reno badges. If it was made for Canada, it would have gotten Chevy Optra badges. If it was for Australia, Holden Viva badges. China, Buick Excelle badges. Et cetera. GM is GM is GM. Taking my car to a Chevy dealership is like taking a Camaro to Wright Pontiac.
Yeah and when they screw up, hyundai wont warrenty it. So why bother?
i’d like to hear that from someone a little more qualified than you before i take that as fact.
Im a hyundai line tech. Any none Hyundai oil filter can lead to a violation of the warrenty. Odds are there not going to void it over something like an oil change, but if the damage is due or because of an non hyundai oil filter the damage wont be coverd.
are you fucking retarded? its a car dealership. Its an oil change. let me spell that out even more for you. These are mechanical shops that can do just about anything to cars, even engine and tranny swaps, but they shouldnt be trusted to change the oil on a Suzuki just because its a different brand of car they sell? Its a fucking OIL CHANGE. Jesus fuck.
i would have to say Hyundai got 1 of the worst warnties if you dont have all mantence preforemed and prroof of it they will fuck u on your warntie
this is why you are a greese monkey, sorry a tech, and they have other people working in the offices.
