Made it to Paris and not dead or sick. Kenya was amazing. Crazy to see people running and yelling mzungu (white people) as you drive by. Visiting the prisons was pretty life changing. I will share more and some pictures when I get back to the states. Did a safari in masai mara yesterday and a quick stop in Paris today.

Cool, look forward to hearing more after your 21 day quarantine

Is that raw sewage from a Carnival cruise ship?

Quick update. Most of the pictures taken of me were on someone else’s camera. But here is at least a brief summary of the trip:

Picture of where we stayed with the Buildthevillage organization. They primarily build orphanages, schools and churches in a village and try to get kids on the right track to end the circle of poverty. We had interaction with kids from pre-school age to trade school age.

Interesting note is the rocks in the foreground are hand craved into the stone used in the buildings. Labor is so inexpensive it is cheaper than ordering bricks.

View out my door

Playing soccer with the kids

The another goal of buidlthevillage is ministering to inmates. We went to 3 jails; low security farm prison, medium security and high security. Pictures were not allowed but I risked it. We played volleyball in each to bond with them and then shared the gospel with groups of around 100 inmates. The medium security prison we won and also caused a roit.

Orange sweaters are only given after 5 years locked up. I tried to “buy” one off a guard, but the transaction seemed less than above board and due to the reason for our visit I decided not to get one. Plus I don’t really have a Kenyan physique.

Quick shot of the medium prison after we beat them and were rushed onto the other side of the fence.

Typical road and town in Kenya

Place where we had lunch a couple times (food was good)

Waterfall with a bat cave that we explored

Chi tea is the number one export and there is endless fields of it

We also did an afternoon and morning safari (small sample, but we saw everything and most were a stones throw away or closer)

Ate at carnivore and tried everything on the menu (croc was the best)

On the way back to the US we stopped in Paris

That’s the 2 week trip in a 22 picture summary.

Awesome man, but did I read this right:

You got to beat on some African prisoners?!?!

Beat them in volleyball. We had a guy that kept spiking the ball, yelling and then trying to run around and slap hands of the inmates. Not sure what he was thinking but it didn’t translate well.

TROLOLOLOL

lol, I was joking. Looks like it was an incredible experience
