Dr. Gary Kobinger, from the National Microbiology Laboratory at the Public Health Agency of Canada, told BBC News that he believed that the infection was spread through large droplets that were suspended in the air.
“What we suspect is happening is large droplets; they can stay in the air, but not long; they don’t go far,” he explained. “But they can be absorbed in the airway, and this is how the infection starts, and this is what we think, because we saw a lot of evidence in the lungs of the non-human primates that the virus got in that way.”
x2. I would think/hope that someone traveling halfway across the world has more on their agenda than just spreading religion. There should be some food/clothing/medicine/shelter involved.
That’s great and all, but I know a few people that are able to do those things without shoving their religious beliefs on the severely uneducated people in undeveloped countries. I just hope the motivation to help comes from the right place. I know a handful of people who donate their time and money to help the less fortunate in Africa through peace corp, I actually know one guy who spends 1 month every year flying around the world doing cleft lip / palate surgeries in undeveloped countries for absolutely free.
Forgive me for being doubtful of this groups motivation…
Tell that to the LDS out here… I’ve talked with them; the whole purpose of them going is to try and convert people; NOT to do those other things you listed.
