This is one of the coolest tracks above the Mason-Dixie line, and there’s a BMW CCA HPDE 8/22-8/24 (Friday to Sunday), unfortunately I don’t have the moneyz to actually sign up for the track day, which goes for alot of us, however I DO want to go watch/hang out/camp out and get stupid after checking out some sick cars being tossed by some sick drivers.
So who’s with me? We could take one car, or two depending on how many people want to go, and split gas however many ways, and everyone just bring a few things that we’d need to survive…primarily alcohol of course (But seriously we can’t get too rowdy, and must clean up after ourselves).
I’d really rather not drive personally, we should take a vehicle that’s both good on gas and slightly offroad capable, not to mention four doors.
Soooo begin the list!
Thing we might need:
-Beer
-Meat
-Bread
-Cheese
-Condiments
-Tent
-BYO Sleeping bag
-Utensils
-Firewood
-Rope (apparently there are bears)
-Bear Mace (:shifty)
*IF YOU THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE ADD TO LIST!
Jesse’s pushing for the ability to take passengers, the more people we get there the better chances we have of being able to go for some “pissyodrawrs” kinda rides :naughty
We’re working on the passenger situation, but YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RIDE ON THE TRACK!!!
There plenty of instructors there to take you out for rides in all sorts of awesome cars. Tom (1stgen) and I may be able to take you out as well but we have to wait for insurance and logistics to work out. We’re tech nazis at Calabogie, not instructors.
Come out, you’ll have a blast. Split gas with a few of the guys and it makes for a cheap vacation.
The Track is fantastic --We just added a one day rate @ $249 if you are strapped for cash. And the registration site accepts credit cards.
The town is about 3 miles from the track --but they do have a grocery store --LCBO ( Liquor and beer–American stuff is cheaper to bring with you) and 2-3 bars. There is also a lake.
Ottawa is onyl about 45 min away if you need to go somewhere other than the track.
I do not recall any fire pits --so bring a grill instead of firewood.
If you show up --I promise I will get an instructor to take you on the track if you do not drive ( need a helmet --we do not have loaners)
^^^ The man himself. DJ runs the show at Patroon BMWCCA events.
I have a spare helmet I’ll bring. If you have one, or know someone who does, bring it as well so you wont have to share.
Tom (1stgen), Jason (Jammer/Plan B), Mike (Mafdark), DJ (91RS13), and I are all going from the forums, plus the regulars you’ve met at the local autocrosses and elsewhere. Going to be a damn good time.
TITS I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride I wanna go for a ride!!!
You are good on the passport thing until June 2009 Drivers license and Birth certificate are fine. --If they event check them. Most of the time going through customs all they ask about is the car ( both countries)
