Dom bought me this for Christmas, Sam’s club had them on sale for $200. I don’t think they have them anymore though.

I’m no camera expert or anything, but I think it takes good pictures. The night mode is really nice. We took some pictures in Niagara Falls using it, and you can’t even tell that it was night time. I’ll see if I can find one of those pics.

We saw this in Canada too…

B&H Photo is your friend…they pretty much are going to be the cheapest. They are very fast at shipping to.

That first cam you posted is crappy.

Look into the Canon or Nikon P&S

booth cameras have pretty decent lenses

for me the first one…since most users don’t need a picture over 3 megapixle so the 5.1 cheaper than the 6.1

so get the cheaper one…also there isn’t that big of a price difference also see what one feels better in your hand and easier to take pictures with

My buddy had the Kodak 880 the 8mp of the 850 and it was HORRIABLE…took it back the 2nd day.
noise in the pics where even noticable at ISO100 it was a terriable camera.
Dont try and use it for sports. It has an insane shutter lag…it takes a half a second after pressing the shutter for the camera to snap the pic.

He also had the Kodak Z740 and I think it was better then his 880 that he bought.
Personally I would go to the store and try them out…see how the camera acts…what kind od shutter lag does it have. See if u have any mem cards and take those so u can review the pics when u get home…and DONT buy in store especially best buy…RIP OFF…purchase from B&H they are the best prices

you are right and wrong. my old kodak worked great other than as you said had a slow shutter speed. the price at your B&H is 30dollars less than both best buy and office max, but if i buy online at best buy i get 15 dollars off and then a 50 dollar rebat. i ended up getting it at office max. for 10% off which makes $269, and also got a free 512mb sd card retails for 49.99 so 229.99 is alot cheaper than 269.99 and the shudder speed is not to bad on it.

wich one did you get…I would say the Z760 would be the better camera from what I have already seen from the 880…I would imagine the 850 isnt any better

well I say you atleast got the better one out of the 2 you posted.
The Z740 my buddy had was a decent little P&S so i bet its not to bad

The first one is the best for $

Video mode records QuickTime (640 x 480) VGA and (320 x 240) QVGA movie clips at 30 fps with audio (length of video limited only by memory capacity); print images from video FTW!

The second one is max 20fps. :greddy:

Smooth motion is considered 24 fps

if you want video get a camcorder…not a point and shoot digi

if you can have all in one why not

your also not gonna print any pics from video at 640x480…thats not even large enough to make a 4x6 print.
Its a nice add on and 20fps a sec is plenty for just a little P&S

who cares

I’m right along with 05Xrunner, I would stay with canon or nikon p&s. As for having a digi cam that takes video, I had one that did it and when you viewed the video it was horrible. That’s like buying a video camera that takes still pictures, it’s stupid. But that’s just me. If I’m buying a camera I want it to take good still pictures and when I press the button I don’t want any lag unless I set it to.

heres my fuji. it takes good videos
