i had a few year old 8.1 mp coolpix or something. shots came out kinda blurry at distances. well just the other day the LCD screen cracked and broke so i need something new, and i dont know anything about cameras. what should i get, let say 300 is my max but id like to keep it less.

I did a bunch of research a couple of months ago and dropped $300 on the SD880 IS. Same as any other Canon, just latest generation of everything. Optical vibration reduction, digic 4 processor, etc. I like it.

I just picked up a canon a590is. Takes very good pictures and also offers manual modes if you want to get creative.

to be honest no…takes great pics…vids in a pinch

Has outstanding battery life

Some cool features and settings

holds up really well as I have dropped it on occassion.

I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

At the same time as that I bought my in-laws an SD1100 is for $100. I’m kind of pissed that I spent $300 for “the latest.” Their pics come out just as good. :ham:

I have a sony DSC-H5.

Has 12x optical zoom. Only downside is that it’s big, but it takes pretty nice pics…

Newman are thoes pics right off the camera? of fixed up in PS at all? they are really nice for a point and shoot. there is the $100 version on CL right now. im thinking i should pick it up

I love my canon powershot a560, you can probably grab one for 100 bucks or so. Or get a newer version for 150-200

I’ve got the Panasonic TZ5 and have been happy with it. Its best features are the nice, wide angle lens with 10x zoom in a pretty small package. Battery life has been awesome. It will go several days on a ski trip in the cold without needing a recharge.

i have a Kodak m1033 and i really like it alot. great budget point and shoot. you can pick one up for around 130…

best buy shows it at 180 but just to a little searching, it can be had for less.
