Hello all, I’m Robert, and I’ve just moved to the area from Toledo Ohio. Recent grad from OSU (majored in mechanical engineering). I’m 23 and drive a 1992 Mercedes 400E with a little over 200,000 miles on her. Still runs great, and I keep good care of her. I figured I’d join these forums since I’m new to Pennsylvania and not familiar with the area.
One question… in Ohio our cars don’t need inspections. I was glancing over what all gets inspected in Pennsylvania, and am concerned that my car will fail simply because it doesn’t have a muffler. However, the car is very quiet, in fact quieter than a lot of cars with factory exhausts. Is the inspection based on a dB level, or just the presence of a muffler? Thanks!
I managed to get a job working for an engineering consulting firm. I’m really happy about it. There is nothing in Toledo, mostly because Detroit’s 15% unemployment is rubbing off on all surrounding areas.
Thanks for the info on the inspection. Looks like I’ll need to put on a muffler. Bummer.
