Google container datacenter

Warning huge nerds only…

Wow…

they get scooters

This is one of the coolest datacenter designs I have seen…

The Pentagons BCSR(Basement consolidated server room) is also up there on the list…

I would also love to see http://royal.pingdom.com/2008/11/14/the-worlds-most-super-designed-data-center-fit-for-a-james-bond-villain/ someday

Both of those are amazing. Google from a pure tech aspect, the second one from a design point. I am impressed at how efficient the equipment that google uses is.

Underground is def. the way to go. There are several underground datacenters here in RTP.

I thought the new datacenter at Duke was sick, doesn’t hold a candle a to this stuff though.

Saw the Google containers a week ago, very cool shit right there.
Also saw the HP containers CRG West created for them on Datacenter Knowledge the other week.

LOL you should see the other shit Google has in our datacenter.

Let’s put it this way, if you didn’t know any better you’d think you were at a 16 year old’s birthday party haha.

That is so badass on the coolness/visual factor, but only 1.5 megawatt, booo! lol. I wonder what it cost to build that.

There are a lot of under ground datacenters in the VA/PA area but they are all :snky: :snky:

THAT is cool!

god damnit my server room is so lame

Heh, I know. I’m now a lot less enthused about our tiny, white walled closet

If any of you ever build out a datacenter I highly suggest starline bus way for over head power…You can quickly throw into new circuits…220, 110…

Like the one in Die Hard 4

Well ever since 9/11 everything DoD is required to have a COOP site…

Basically unmarked buildings with elevators in the middle that you can’t park government cars in front of…

There is a lot of FBI and DEA buildings in Rochester and Buffalo that I have done network work in that are similar. Not datacenters but they do not have any government vehicles or labeling anywhere on them. :snky:

I was at a state wide distaster training plan like two years ago and a guy from homeland security like gave me his laptop and asked me to fix his VPN. I kinda laughed. He gave me his card come tho think of it… maybe I should call him. Haha

Homeland security IT jobs are the way to go

I can always tell when LZ starts a new project at work. He always posts something relevant in the HNC.

Our datacenter has been built for a while in Amherst…I just like to follow new trends in datacenter design…

surrrrrrreeeeee
