steves new dog is staffie and boxer mix . not pit , even though most think the dogs are the same breeds . there not but are damn close , its mostly size and weight that seperates em
from what ive heard the american staffys are bigger than english staffys also. alls i know is he is much bigger than my full boxer chevelle.
funny you said that jon, ive also been told that an american staffy is a classy name for a pit. obviously you feel it is not the case, but why do some people feel they are the same breed?

I missed the American staffy part , yes they run bigger . It’s a common thing for people to call American staffs pits or vice versa . As far as I know they are diff but it got pike that so that the a.k.c and whatnot would recognize puts as a breed and up till recently ya could not get “papers” for pits so they called em English staffys
Amstaffs are pretty much staffies with american bulldog bred into them for a little more size. Usually about 1/3rd bigger than the dogs John and myself have. American pitbulls are a “different” breed, but John is right when he says people would call pitbulls staffs just to get papers or to make them more “acceptable” to landlords and shit. Really hard to tell the difference without having them DNA’d. Pretty cheap to do, though.
The dog is def some sort of staff/pit and boxer. Hard to tell from the pics, but the size looks to be pretty much on par for an amstaff sized dog.
My cousin has a pitbull that is about 85lbs and still isn’t done growing. I might even be off on the weight (low). He got his ass beat by my 10 year old lab mix thats on his death bed, dog is mixed with greyhound so he’s tall/skinny/retarded and about 70lbs. :rofl

i remember going camping and putting a sweatshirt on him to keep him warm…i was going through the drivethru at mcd’s n he was pissed i didn’t get him something, so i went back and got him a hamburger happy meal…i ended up getting mustard all over his nose…we used to put whipped cream on his nose so he’d hafta lick all over to get it all off…one time he was limping and we cudn’t figure it out…here he had a piece of dry dogfood caught inbetween his paws…he had a purple tongue and when you went to show people he would be mad…he didnt like baths and would always put up a fight…he loved cheese…whenever id go to make a sandwich he’d hear the cheese wrapper and come running…he loved ice cream, always had to get him a baby cone…he had his own toybox and he would go digging for a tennis ball…he loved tennis balls, he would slap it halfway across the room and then run after it…golfballs too…he had a curly piggy tail too and when he sat down all his wrinkles would droop down to his butt
Sorry to hear man. I had to help take Yo Rita’s parents dog to be put down last year i lived with him for about 9 months. Shit was tough what made it worse was standing with him in the back of the truck waiting for them to come out with a cart cause he couldnt walk. to this day i still get choked up thinking about it.

Sorry to hear man. As stated a few posts ago, I had to put down my cat (my first pet that wasn’t the family’s) this past week so I understand how you feel. It definitely sucks, but unfortunately it was needed. No humane animal owner would want their pets to suffer, so you did the right thing. He’ll always be with you man, just don’t forget that.
