i signed up for it in oct of 07 and totally forgot about it. trying to figure it out. might actually ditch the land line in favor of this and our mobile phones.
can you change the transfer greeting that says “trying to locate the grandcentral subscriber” ?
Wow. I have had a GC account before they were bought by google. So much you can do with it to get cheap and free phone calls.

ah, just figured it out. i guess i never “setup” my greeting so i still had the default one.
nice, now it goes directly to my phone without anyone knowing.
my only concern is that this is still private beta. what’s to keep them from eliminating the service or start charging, then you’re SOL.
There is a shit load of ways to use this as incoming and dial out using the same number as a caller ID and get pretty much free calling.
